When my Apple Watchâs screen cracked, I chose Oops Repair because of their competitive pricing, convenience, estimated time of service completion, and good reputation in the community. I dropped off my watch on a Friday morning and was told it would be ready on Tuesday afternoon due to the holiday weekend and the need to order the part. Their computer systems were down, so the technician who took my watch wrote down my information on a sheet of paper and said they would take care of it. I didnât hear from Oops on Tuesday, so I stopped by to pick the watch up at lunchtime Wednesday. The employees could not locate my watch! Everyone makes mistakes, so I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and asked them to just give me a call later that afternoon when the technician who had been working on the watch came back from lunch and helped locate it. No one ever called! I finally called Oops at 5pm because I was concerned that my watch was actually lost. They told me they had located the watch, apologized profusely, and said they had talked to the owner and would give me a $20 discount. I still am not sure what happened to my watch between Friday afternoon and Thursday when I was able to pick it up, but the screen replacement ended up being fantastic and the employees were respectful and kind in their interactions. Although I am pleased with the repair itself and am thankful the owner chose to grant a discount, I am not sure I would choose this business for my repairs in the future due to their lack of communication with me and their carelessness...
Read moreMy First impression: "Very friendly, professional, and provided quality repair on my iPhone". They seem nice and polite when you go in.
My second impression: I had a screen replacement because the original iPhone screen turned special colors and stopped working. The screen replacement cost and labor about $200 so I assumed it would last for a while....1. The replacement screen was not as bright as the original, but I could deal with that. 7 weeks after the screen replacement, I got stuck in a rainstorm for about 15 minutes. I wasn't worried because I had been stuck in other rainstorms before the screen replacement and the phone was fine. {The iPhone 13 mini has the following rating "Rated IP68 (maximum depth of 6 meters up to 30 minutes) under IEC standard 60529"} After the rainstorm, the screen started flashing weird colors and then went black. The phone still worked with siri commands but I just couldn't see the screen. Oops Repair refused to repair it under warranty because they said there was moisture in it. I believe that when they originally replaced the screen 7 weeks ago one of two things happened. a) they are using junky low quality screen replacements or b) they did not correctly install the seal on the replacement screen which reduced the original water resistant rating of the iphone which allowed moisture to enter the iPhone I was not going to pay another $200 to have a faulty repair so I left with a still non working iPhone.
The 1 star rating is based on the original faulty repair and them refusing to fix their error...
Read moreThere were many bad things and some good things that led to my rating of three stars. The original diagnosis was wrong. I brought my wife's phone in thinking it had a bad charge port. The first diagnosis they said it was the battery. They had to order a battery for the phone. Once the battery came in and they replaced it - the phone still didn't charge. They then decided that it was the charge port and replaced it. The phone was fixed for what I brought in for and they did not charge for the battery - just as they had said would be the case. However, they did have some problems when they replaced the battery. They broke/cut the wire to the fingerprint sensor which they knew they did. They said they would fix that no charge but had to wait a couple of days. During that time, the phone was dropping calls all over. Even inside the house on wi-fi. So when they did finally have a chance to fix the finger print sensor they also found the antenna had a bad connection when asked about that. They were able fix that at the same time as the sensor.
One thing that was extremely frustrating was the poor communication. They were hard to get in touch with and didn't return voicemails.
In the end they only charged for the fixing the charge port and even gave a $20 discount and I think was very good of them. Would I recommend them to others? Perhaps, with a lot of caveats and only because I don't have a better place to take a...
