A detailed review of the cat experience and the café experience.
Full disclosure: this is my first cat café. We have three gorgeous felines at home, and we have always been a cat family. We have offices in Tokyo, and there are several cat cafés there, and they are starting to pop up in the states, and so I was intrigued and was pleasantly surprised at how cozy this one is.
The layout of the cat experience: There is a main room when you walk in that is very cozy, and, unexpectedly, elegant: think leather couches and soft lighting and gorgeous, handwoven rugs on the floor and dark wood. This was really lovely to sit in and sip coffee and let the cats come to you. There are a few play things for the cats in the center of the rugs.
The next room is a hallway with modern lighting. We actually have these exact fun light-up cubes at home, which glow neon, and add a modern ambience. In this hallroom, there is a special room with three cats who are not quite socialized yet for the experience that you can also visit.
The final room is more brightly lit and has a large cat tree that faces the window. Lots of seating, not as cozy as the first room, instead it boats a a brighter airy feel. Although there were some dozing cats here, this room seems to be a space where the cats are more playful.
I think my only disappointment was in the café element, because I guess I expected it to be a true café, with cappuccinos and lattes. They certainly did not advertise it as such, so that was my error in expectation. So I give the cat experience 10 out of 10, and the coziness of the rooms is wonderful, but the coffee and tea experience was similar to something you would get in an Airbnb or a hotel. It was nice, it was local coffee, and they had tea, but it was a serve-yourself situation. They kept the coffee hot and refilled with frequency, but, it would be nice if there were espresso-type options available. Please keep in mind again that they never said they would offer specialty espresso drinks; that was just my false preconception. I just think it would be a nice addition if they leveled up their coffee game. I am giving five stars to the overall visit. The cat area was also kept clean with very little litter box odor, and the littlerboxes were in a separate room that the cats entered through cute little mailbox holes...
Read moreWow wow wow, where do I even begin. My wife, and I came here for a spontaneous trip to Chattanooga, so the second we saw this place pop up, we immediately made a reservation. Let me tell you something. This place deserves every five star rating it gets.
First of all, the staff are super super energetic, helpful, and friendly! You can tell they care a lot about what they do, and definitely help enhance this environment. The first impression we got off them was great, and very welcoming. They made sure we were well taken care of!
Second, the place was a very pristine lounge. No bad smells, no dirty furniture, the lobby was spotless, and the cats looked very well groomed. Very comfortable furniture. And they had a book describing each cat that was very funny, and a great read.
Third, the accommodations for guests is amazing! Complimentary sodas so that we could really relax. And they have all sorts of other really great snacks you could get. And a lot of cool stickers, and other things to help contribute for the cats.
Forth, and most importantly. The cats! They were all so cute! And there was a great variety of personalities in that lounge. They were super friendly, and we just wanted to scoop them all up and take them home then and there. They looked very content, and they enjoyed the huge selection of toys that is provided. They also had a few cats that were in a smaller room healing from some sort of injury that could see in a more calm quiet manner, and even they were absolutely adorable and sweet to us. You can tell that each and every one of these cats is spoiled rotten, and as happy as could be.
Overall, this place is worth every cent to come visit, and it's atmosphere is wonderful. I also had read that cats find classical type music relaxing, and they had that type playing, so they made sure every aspect of the cats comfort is taken into consideration. Very easy to relax here, and truly feel happy With the cats. I'd give this place ten stars if I could. My wife, and I will definitely be coming back. You can tell why this is one of the top cat sanctuaries.
Side note, the cat art on the walls...
Read moreThis is easily the best cafe/lounge that I have ever visited. The owners are extremely kind and generous; truly inspirational. The scenery of each room is beautiful, with comfy places spread throughout for both human and furry friends! All the cats, save for a moody few, are very friendly and loving, along with a few that have a much for playful personality. There is a lot of room for loving, with this being the 2nd largest cat cafe in the world. The rooms were all decorated amazingly to give even more of a warm and cozy feel to the overall aesthetic. Aside from any of the comfort of hanging out with cats, another great aspect of this establishment is how many cats it helps, with well over 100 cats having been adopted out to forever homes. It warms my heart to see such a selfless organization with the sole purpose of helping cats and fellow humans alike any way that they can through feline companionship. It's inspiring to see such an amazing pair working towards a better future for the lives on all these cats, while also providing people with happiness that they may not be able to have (like not being able to have cats of their own.) I'll definitely spread the word about my wonderful experience at the Cat Cafe, and properly represent with my new (very soft!!) hoodie from the cafe. There's not a single way I could think of for this place to improve, for it has already surpassed the...
