The Wish Project — Local services in Chelmsford

Hi so I went to the wish program to get help to find a bassinet for my daughter me and my husband went there to look around and he found what he was looking at so you put the baby in it to see if it would suit hair he seen he seen in her eyes she loved it so he got excited and came to tell me and so as we were going back there to look at it cause you got me the staff came over an escorted us out of that area and told us that we couldn't be there and explored us to the front of it where there was barely nothing for newborns babies toddlers to sleep in or even to enjoy themselves so I asked her I said well what about back there we want to go and grab that we found one that we won't be needed she said oh no you need a referral and it till you get a referral then you can come back and get it I told her that people donate to people who don't have money and that can't afford it so they come to resources like this expected them to help us so come to find out when we get there for help they don't help you out when you expect them to because we have people donate any and helping us and we appreciate it and all the things that they do to donate for people that need it to get denied when you get there that's very troubling I don't I don't work enough to make it I don't get enough to get it so when this resources out there that help people like us and they deny you over a piece of paper I think that's wrong thank you for everybody who didn't donated everything to the wish program I'll just be careful where you...

I've donated 4 times (a bunch of clothes, shoes, bags and small items) throughout years in this place and it has been okay until this time. They put everything they DON'T accept on their website but didn't include small shoe shelves in the furniture session, but apparently they don't accept it. I understand they are a nonprofit and probably didn't update everything online, but the lady who talked with us is so rude and angry that we bring something they don't accept. After I told her it is not listed online on that DON'T accept list (not accept list) she said I don't care and if you want to add that on our website you can talk with our supervisor. I thought it is a nice thing to donate things that can be still useful for people who needs, but I don't know why such a good thing can turn into such a bad experience. I just wish we didn't have to be treated rudely. Also, we didn't even get a chance to put our name in their sign in list for the other two bags we donated today because of this thing that happened. Such an amazing place! I'm so blessed. I had been living in a shelter for 3 1/2 years with my child, trying to be the best I can and have a place now of my own! Thanks to this place and all who have donated, it had got both my son and I off to a good start and helped us make home feel like our actual home. It truly is inspiring to know there is help and with that I can give my son a better life and live a more healthier lifestyle with stress relief and I can go back to looking up and rise again.
