The store itself: Bright, open, clean, well stocked! Great selection. Love the location and lots of parking.
The cashiers and baggers in the weekday evenings: Overall awful. I've mentioned to managers many times over the last year or two I've been coming here that items are routinely bagged in ways that damage them, bags so heavy I can't lift them even when I have more reusable bags, and food safety? Isn't even a thought. The cashiers and baggers at night are mostly young people who clearly aren't supervised or trained and I have seen and heard them made fun of other customers, swear and mess around, insult people's food choices and Market Basket etc. Reporting it to management clearly does nothing.
Edit 2/19 - A front end manager told me they know their baggers and cashiers are bad and there's nothing they can do. That they train them and they don't learn anything. I spoke to the store manager about it and he was very apologetic but a week later my groceries are still crushed, meat put in with cooked items, etc. Spend more and go elsewhere cuz wow. Front end staff is all kids who have no supervision.
Edit 3/29 - today produce crushed with canned goods, and another front end manager told me they try to train baggers but they just don't listen. Will be going to Chelmsford instead.
Edit 4/5 - Have stopped coming to this store but had to go in today. Bagging is still bad, you can make a specific request and it's ignored (crushing produce with canned goods again). Then the front end person I mentioned it to again said there's nothing they can do and people are...
Read moreThe store is nice. The Cafe and Kitchen aren’t great. They never have half of what is on their menu. I’ve gone 2 hours before closing and was told they aren’t making any new food in the kitchen. The ice cream machine is always down and there are never any flavors that are offered on menu. Today I went and ordered an ice coffee. I asked for a flavor and melted sugar. The employee rolled his eyes at me and told me if he “remembers” he will add the flavor to my coffee. There are nice ladies who work usually and ask how I’d like my coffee but this kid had a terrible attitude. Same goes for the kitchen staff. Some are very rude. I’ve asked for my burger cooked well done and I’be been given an attitude as if it’s an inconvenience to cook it a minute longer. Overall disappointing customer service experience which is unusual for market basket. Maybe train your staff to treat customers a bit better and if you are working on these cafe/kitchens maybe at least take you want to please the customer by just simply accommodating their requests. It’s not like I’m asking for much...
Read moreI had an issue with my order from the kitchen (fried chicken) which I was supposed to pick up by 8am on 12/17 for an event we had. I arrived by 9am and was told that the chicken had not been prepared yet. I was so unhappy to hear this because the rep I spoke with over the phone the day before assured me that my order would be ready by the pickup time and it wasn’t. The kitchen manager, Jenn, was awesome! She truly went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of even though my order was started late. Jenn handled the matter with professionalism, and did everything she could, beyond just apologizing, to make sure she could make my experience satisfactory. She added an extra batch of fried chicken to my order, free of charge, which was so great because at the event, everyone loved the chicken so much that they kept going back for 2nds and 3rds. And she even helped me handle another issue I was taking care of while waiting on the chicken to fry. Thank you so much, Jenn. Please continue taking care of customers the way you do! You...
