Food Lion — Local services in Chesapeake

Not only have they stopped carrying many of the products I use and have used and bought there for years, but this store had absolutely terrible service, the aisle stock workers were rude and blind to customers, the grocery cashier was incredibly slow, he couldnt speak up to be heard and fussed with his bags for almost 5 minutes after a customer in front of me and before beginning my transaction. I could watch my ice cream lose its frosty ice on the outside while waiting. Then he over stuffed and literally threw everything into bags. He couldnt even double bag the one bag he offered to double bag because it was to overfilled and discombobulated. I was so frustrated upon leaving. I dont completely blame the kid, I am sure he was never properly trained to bag groceries, which can be a health hazard by the way. I will stay as far away from the store as possible. Food Lion you really need to get your stuff together and give these kids you're hiring a fighting chance in gaining job satisfaction and customer appreciation....

Been coming here for 12 years. Today's customer service at checkout was subpar. Person in front of me got a hello, do you have mvp, have a nice day and food was handled with care. I got there and said hello, how are you. No reply. Threw my rotisserie chicken upside-down on top of my other food. Didn't ask for mvp and gave me a look like it was a bother for him to scan my card. I said have a nice day as I left, got a mmhmm yea. This place has gone downhill over the past year customer service and being able to keep things in stock wise. The two other local Foodlion's have better stock and options. This store needs to get self checkout fast so we don't have to deal with how unpleasant these cashiers are. I'd rather...

I love shopping at Food Lion regardless of what city I'm in. Today I was in Chesapeake store on Moses Grandy Trail. Great shopping experience even though there was a particular item I was looking for wasn't on the shelf. No problem. I'll just check at the Food Lion near my home in Norfolk. I also saved a few dollars with my Shop and Earn points. This store was clean and well organized just like the Norfolk stores. Cashiers were readily available unlike Walmart.
