We have been ordering carry-out from this restaurant since they opened up in our neighborhood. My husband always orders the fajitas. And almost every time, they forget to put his wraps in the bag. Fajitas without wraps... The first few times, we went back to get them, or we would check to make sure they were in the bag before we left. This time, rushing I didn't check. Got home and they were not in the bag. So I called to let them know they did not put them in the bag(again), and decided to ask if they delivered. The guy that answered the phone said yes, but they are not going to deliver just an order of wraps because they are only 50 cents. He said they would give us an extra order of WRAPS the next time we order. So basically, our choice was to drive back to go pick them up or get an extra order the NEXT time we order from them. It's not the mistake, it's the fact he didn't think our inconvenience was worthy enough to send someone to drop off what was missing from our order. Dining is more than just the food, it's about the customer service as well. But how do you continuously forget to add wraps to an order of fajitas?? This will be the last time we...
Read moreLove this place!! This is my favorite place to eat Mexican food when I'm in the mood for it. Coming here from Texas it's not always easy to find good Mexican food but his place as well as Degollado Mexican Cafe/Grill on Newtown Rd. In Norfolk are the best from ocean view, Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Suffolk & Portsmouth.
If I want GOOD Mexican food with great service, I would gladly go to either of these two places & On Sundays at Degollado's kids eat for 2.99.
El Puente Mexican Grill was recommended to us by a co-worker. It has definitely been a great recommendation. Staff is great & the place is clean & very family friendly Check them out.
I judge a lot of places by their queso too & this place ranks at the top. I would only recommend adding some pico to the cheese dips though but that's just me. It's really great. I always order a side of pico to spoon into my queso for the chunks of onion & tomato in my dips
Absolutely love this place. Been there many times now at lunch & dinner. Never been...
Read moreCertainly not the best Mexican food that you'll ever have, but far from the worst. Good food, good service, and seating area is clean. My only knock is that this restaurant started to charge 3% fee to use a credit card. Which may not matter to some people, and 3% may only be a couple bucks in the end, but all these businesses charging customers to use a card is getting out of control in my opinion. I asked the waitress about it, she said they upgraded their system and started charging about 6 months ago. Again, just my opinion, but these businesses should eat the charges they occur to upgrade their systems, not the customer. A lot of companies and businesses are nickeling and diming us, and those $1-$3 dollar charges add up after a while. For that reason, and that reason alone, I won't be going to El Puente any longer. I'd like to give my business to a restaurant that isn't nickeling and diming customers in credit card fees. If none of that matters to you though, then this is a decent Mexican restaurant for...
