
I've lived near here basically my entire life. I love the park, I just wish they'd keep up with it's appearance. Like... I love the trails, but they've become too overgrown and wild, thorns, fallen trees, brambles and stickers, the pat itself is fairly over grown. They used to have docks in the park itself by the water, those were gone many years ago.. I wish they'd rebuild them. I also used to love seeing all the art work people did on the wooden towers, it was never offensive or vulgar, a lot of it represented the pride of deep creek, their graduating years, I saw one that was the whole galaxy painted in amazing detail, then the people came and painted everything over with this ugly burnt mud brown color. Read moreAs far as "Facilities" are concerned, it's a bit sparse if you're talking about restrooms. There's no vending machines, but that's not why I go to parks.... I love this park, but the City of Chesapeake really, really, needs to reconsider their policy on cutting back inspect spraying for some of their parks. Especially this one since it's right on the water. Once Spring/Summer is in full swing, its almost unbearable, even with bug spray on. I will say that biting bugs are extremely "into" me, so your results may vary. I love the scenic overlooks at this park, and the fact you can cross two different bridges and check out hidden gem parts...

Solid playground equipment for children ages 4-11, a compact fitness circuit loop with several stations, wide well maintained fields, a small path with water on each side fornthe more adventurous child, and two 2nd story observation platforms in addition to the normal infrastructure like benches and covered picnic tables. Additionally, on the other side of the parking lot there is both a lengthy (150 ft?) Fixed dock, and a smaller floating dock. Sat on the floating dock and soaked my toes on a lovely sunny Sunday.
