I Felt Like I was a Part of a Food Experiment or A Conspiracy to Eat Chinese Food ...
Tanko Japan "TANKED" my dinner tonight. I was hyped about having soba noodle soup, especially after the officers walking out with bundled bags of food, raved about the place; and their 4.1 overall star rating helped also. Many of the "most recent" 1-star reviews are accurate. I wish I read these before the "relevant" reviews because I agree with Tyler's opinion. "This place gives Japanese food a bad rap." I grew up eating sobas, soups and street food in Japan. What we had tonight was not it. I couldn't tell Hibachi from Teriyaki. The steak and chicken was overcooked. They did not separate my noodles from the broth for take-out, which made them soggy for eating. After separating the noodles, there was less than a cup of broth. All the food was limited in flavor. But, the saving grace was my husband who stepped into the Chinese restaurant next door. They did not disappoint! The shrimp were jumbo, seasoned, cooked tenderly in large portions; and I'm not a fan of Chinese carryout. ... Now back to Tanko. ... The customer service was professional, which is why I gave higher stars. I am glad I asked about condiments because they weren't bagged for me--you have to gather them yourself. The Hibachi sauces were included. However, all wasn't lost, in terms of feeling like I wasted $50 bucks. My 🐕 dog thought he died and went to heaven, Kahn ate like a king 🤴. We don't practice giving him table food, but "King...
Read moreIf I could give this place zero stars I would! My husband and I frequent this place and never really had complaints about the food. Today my husband ordered shrimp and scallops and was rung up for steak, shrimp, and scallops. He is allergic to red meat and hasn’t eaten it in years. He didn’t catch the mistake until later, when he got home the first bite he took was covered in rice and sauce and it was steak. He got sick and I called the restaurant and I got yelled at over the phone. The lady I was speaking to also suggested I pick out the steak and laughed as she said it. I decided to go to the restaurant and when I went in and explained what had happened they said there was nothing they could do. I asked them to remake the food without the steak and they said no. I then I asked for a refund and they said they couldn’t do that either. The lady that I assume was in charge said if my husband hadn’t taken a bite and brought it back, they could make him new food because they could use his. THEY WERE GOING TO GIVE PEOPLE FOOD THEY HAD GIVEN TO SOMEONE ELSE. They treated me very poorly and having worked in the restaurant business if you make a mistake you do your best to fix it or at least make it better. I will never go there again and I suggest no one else...

My 'salad' was BROWN, my 'tuna roll" was NOT Tuna! my yakisoba had the strangest smell and taste to it. the broccoli, im not even sure how broccoli could taste that way. almost like it sat in a cardboard box in a warehouse with rats nesting in it.
