When Target was unable to fulfill my pickup order for a Nintendo switch, the manager Courtney was dishonest, unprofessional, and disrespectful. I had placed my order at 9:12am and received an email that I would be notified when my order was ready for pickup. Three hours later, at noon I called this location and spoke to Chris in the electronic department to see whether or not any progress had been made with my order, as it had already been three hours and I had not yet heard back. He explained to me that although I had placed my order, the switch would be on the shelf and available for purchase by in-store customers until it was pulled from the shelf to be packaged for pickup. I asked for the switch to be pulled from the shelf so that it could not be purchased but he insisted he was unable to do this. How hard would it have been for Chris to contact a member of the flex team to prepare my order (I had my order number ready)??? Due to the an influx of daily orders I understand not being able to recognize a switch order or to pull the item immediately from the shelves, but when it has already been THREE hours it should have already been pulled. Not only that but when I called at 12, someone should have set the switch aside to fill the order, but Chris instead put the switch BACK on the shelf after telling me there was only one left and not even twenty minutes later, I received an email saying my order could not be fulfilled because there were no longer any switches in stock. This is TERRIBLE business and they absolutely did NOT make shopping with Target a pleasant experience. There is no logical reason why the switch couldn’t be pulled and my order fulfilled immediately when I spoke to Chris (I understand he might not have been able to complete the order, but surely someone should have been notified that I had an order for a high demand item and it had been three hours since the order was placed.... that’s a huge problem so don’t even try ordering anything in high demand here because it’ll probably get sold before they even get around to looking at your order). Overall, the company lacked communication and was not effective at all in fulfilling pickup orders. The worst part, however, was when the manager Courtney tried to lie to me. She tried to settle the issue by telling me my order had not been able to be fulfilled because the truck with the switches on them had not been unloaded that early so there was no way to tell whether or not they had it in stock yet. I knew this was a lie because the customer service representative (was very nice, no fault to her) I spoke to before being transferred to the manager said she was working in the electronic department at 8 that morning and had sold three of the five they got in stock that morning.... which means they were definitely unloaded and accounted for. When I called Courtney out on this she started getting disrespectful and snappy and was not willing to assist me at all even though I was driving to this location in Virginia despite residing in NORTH CAROLINA. I was driving from out-of-state to pick up the switch I ordered. She then tried arguing that it was my fault for leaving my house before receiving a notification that my order was ready and recited the email to me... the email that reads “we will notify you when your order is ready”... I then let her know this meant absolutely nothing and it shouldn’t have been a problem that I was headed to target to eventually pick up my order because it says WHEN it is ready not IF it is ready or THAT IT MIGHT NOT EVER BE READY ( due to their inefficiency) was the order not pulled within three hours due to insufficient or...
Read moreSecond update to original review 3/14/23: I went in last week and found they have completely removed the women’s plus size clothing department. They only had a few clearance pieces (6-8) mixed into the regular sizes. This is confusing to me because any other Target within a 30 minute drive has an extensive plus size section. The other stores even have the seasonal clothing section offered in plus sizes with the regular sizes. I checked the same items at this location, no plus sizes. Changing my review again…to one star because I can no longer shop at my favorite store locally for clothes. I would love to talk to someone about this and have a better explanation.
Update as of 1/31/23: changing my review from 1 to 3 stars. As mentioned in my previous review below I previously had issues with stock of the up and up petroleum jelly. Someone must have seen this review and it has had stock on the shelf continuously since. Also a few of the special product lines to come in have been well stocked. However I will not be able to bring my review up from a 3 until this store gets more product lines (like norfolk for example). And other points made in previous review are still valid.
Original review: First let me say the employees at this target are always kind and I really appreciate that. I’m a big target shopper and moved to this area recently and this is now my local target- unfortunately it’s shelves are always bare, they only have a portion of products compared to other target locations, they never have new product lines/releases like other targets (if they do it’s a portion compared to other locations). The stock shown online for what’s in store is incorrect on some of my everyday items- for example: I use the drive up service often, but every time I go to buy the up and up 100% petroleum jelly, it states you have some in stock let’s me buy it and then you have none when I go to pick it up. This has happened 3 times and no one has changed the stock to say there is none in stock or ordered more to replenish the shelf. The plus size women's section is SO small. The clothing department in general is small in all departments (including baby) and always has the same clothing. The women's clearance racks are tame but always unorganized every time I go in. It needs to be organized by size. I went to the Norfolk target and was blown away by all the everyday products I hadn’t seen at my local target. And the stock they showed online for in store was correct. Same with greenbrier location. Why all the corporate neglect with this location? Target corporate please come and visit this store and put some love into this location that is shopped so often by our local community. The parking lot is always full and thriving. Give us a face lift inside and give us more products. Treat this target like the others. Sincerely, a...
Read moreDear Target Customer Service Team, I am writing to formally report a highly unprofessional and unpleasant experience I had with a cashier during my visit to your store at 3:09 pm on December 26,2024. The address of this store is 4200 Portsmouth Blvd STE 600, Chesapeake, Virginia, 23321. I believe this incident reflects poorly on the excellent customer service I have come to expect from Target. While attempting to use a Target gift card for my purchase, I discovered that the card did not have an access code. I was unaware of this issue prior to my visit, and instead of assisting me in resolving the matter, the cashier accused me of potentially attempting to scam the system. This accusation was completely baseless, offensive, and inappropriate. Adding to my frustration, the cashier dismissed me by stating, “ Find someone else’s time to waste, “ in an unprofessional and condescending tone. This response made me feel disrespected and unwelcome. Furthermore, the cashier openly complained that he should have been off work ten minutes prior, making it clear that he was more concerned with leaving than providing adequate customer service. His attitude was rude, dismissive, and completely unacceptable. As a loyal customer, I expect your team to uphold a standard of professionalism and respect, regardless of the circumstances. This experience left me feeling frustrated, and I believe it warrants immediate attention. I request that this situation should be addressed with the staff member involved and that additional training be provided to ensure no other customer has to endure such treatment. Additionally, I would appreciate clarification on how to resolve the issue with my gift card, as it remains unresolved. Thank you for your time and understanding. I do look forward to hearing from you regarding...
