I live over a hour away from The Twisted Crab. this is the closest seafood boil near me.
Two times previously i ordered take out and they forgot my crab legs (THE MOST IMPORTANT PART). The first time i let it slide because i wasn’t willing to drive over an hour just for crab legs the second time I called and the man said he can’t refund me but he can write my name down to come get the crab legs free of charge since they are the ones who forgot. Tonight i came in and asked for the man who told me to come and the server informed me that he doesn’t work there anymore which means i had to basically let it slide again.
Tonight was my first time actually eating inside the restaurant and the server never asked did we need refills/another drink etc etc. My partner had to ask another server for a take out tray and he said okay and never came. We were looking for our original server just to see him and the other servers (including the one my partner asked for a tray) laughing by the bar instead of making sure the customers were alright.
The original server only walked by once and as he was walking by he said “are we alright” and was already passed the table before we could answer instead of standing there waiting for a response.
I end this to say this is a place of business. i’m not saying i don’t want the workers to have fun and enjoy their job because i 100% don’t mind the side convo but i would just respect and understand it more if they stopped at-least every few minutes to make sure we were okay then go back to talking...
Read moreI go to this spot often, to the point I have a VIP CARD. I usually have a great time there and great drinks which are usually made by Brandon. Therefore when I go I request him or Caitlin to make my drinks. So on 6-22-22 I went there and walked to the bar I immediately asked for Brandon and was told he wasn't there by a person I've never seen. So I see Caitlin and I asked her to make my drink and she did and it was great. The gentleman that told me Brandon wasn't there had a very nasty attitude. He was upset I didn't want him to make my drinks. He is very aggressive and quick to argue with customers and tell them to leave. He did eventually make me a drink and it was good but that's not the point. The point is he's rude and he's going to cost that restaurant to lose a lot of money. Sad thing is I know one of the head honchos there and we talk a lot when I'm at the bar. I didn't want to make this post but I felt like I had to. The young lady that made my drink was fired the next day the reason they gave was bull the real reason was she made a drink and the Manager on duty was the wife of the aggressive rude bartender. I could say a lot more on that evening but I will leave it alone and just not ever go there again. Some people get just a little authority and they abuse it! This was evident in this case. Read moreThis review is based on everything. We have visited A lot of seafood restaurants in the Hampton Roads area and when I say we drive to Chesapeake to come here. Our party of 13 recently dined here, and from the moment we walked in, the service was absolutely outstanding from the hostess(s) to our server Heaven. Even with such a large group and five separate tabs, everything ran smoothly and efficiently. We were impressed by how attentive and friendly our new server was—she handled our entire table like a pro, making sure every drink, meal, and request was taken care of with a smile.
The food was delicious! With this being our second time here The seafood boil bags were flavorful, fresh, and perfectly cooked. The $89 platter was the best part for my family —packed with generous portions that were well worth every penny. Even the kids’ meals were tasty and came out quickly, which made the evening even more enjoyable for the families.
We also ordered a variety of alcoholic drinks, and each one was crafted well and served promptly. It’s rare to find a place that balances excellent food and top-notch service so seamlessly, especially with a big group.
