Chester residents have fallen in love with Montgomery & Taggert, the creation of best-friends and book lovers Sarah Borgnis-Tobin and Elizabeth Tucker, and readers throughout New England are quickly discovering this little Chester jewel. Sarah and Elizabeth are purveyors of romance and nothing but romance. From Jane Austen and Charlotte Bronte to Collen Hoover and Emily Henry, Montgomery & Taggert has them all. And adding to the appeal of their expansive inventory, M&T holds regular complementary events like "Foam & Fables," a monthly book club held in partnership with local Chester craft brewery, Little House. Based on the community buzz surrounding their beautiful shop, I think we can expect Sarah and Elizabeth to sell their share of the 39 million printed romance novels purchased by avaricious readers every year.

This is hands down one of the cutest bookstores I have ever walked into. They sold so much during their opening weekend that they’re waiting for more inventory and that makes me so happy for them. I own the majority of the books there, but was able to still find myself From Hot to Dot, a connect the dot coloring book full of my favorite gentlemen like Mr. Darcy. I’ll definitely be back in the future to get myself some more fun books and swag. Such a cute shop and concept, I love it.

Montgomery & Taggert is a perfect romance bookstore complete with quaint New England charm! The owners are amazing and so quick to offer passionate recommendations for exactly the book you need. They have such a well curated selection, covering so many subgenres, amazing gifts and even books on writing for writers. Such a treat to visit, it makes me want to live in Chester!

Update: Stopped by for another visit and to show the shop to a visiting friend. I could have spent all day getting book recommendations from one of the owners, she's just wonderful. I highly suggest going during some off hours and letting the staff help you find a new read!

Went to the grand opening and I don't even have words for how adorable this place is. I bought a ton of books from authors I hadn't heard of and I can't wait to visit again - totally worth...
