I came in a few thursdays ago with my partner for lunch. We sat at the bar and were served by a very wonderful bartender. He was very friendly and fun to talk too and also knows his way around the bar. My partner got a beer and I got a dark n stormy, which was very good. Everything fell off the rails from there. The cook kept blasting his horrible music, trying to drown out the bars music I suppose. Further, he was constantly shouting and berating the front of the house staff. I’ve ordered some food, he got a burger and I the fish n chips. A while later the horrible slop on a plate the cook claimed to be food came out. My partner cut into his burger to find out that the cook somehow managed to cook 1 side of the burger to a burnt hockey puck and the other side was still raw in the center. Both of us agreed that the fries were not seasoned (I would never allow a cook in my kitchen if he can’t even figure out to use salt). And then there was the dread that was on my plate. The Cole slaw looked like it was made a week ago, at least and to make matters even worse, I found a piece of raw chicken under my fish… how he managed to get raw chicken on my plate, when neither of us even ordered chicken is rather perplexing… needless to say, seeing raw chicken touching my fish kept me from eating it so I can’t say if it was any good but it’s highly unlikely. It looked like a frozen battered fish from the grocery’s frozen food aisle. after that hot mess was given to us we were apologized perfumery by the bartender, which was kind of him but I would have preferred the apology from the cook that tried to make me sick instead of allowing to cower like a little boy in the back. Finally, after that meal was gone from my sight, I went to the bathroom to wash my hands. As I walked by I heard more shouting many homophobic slurs from the cook. I do not approve of homophobia but if the owner allows such people to work for him than I can not support this place. So your money, time and health by avoiding this horrible...
Read moreI’m very sad to be writing this review as we have had many good outings at Pattaconk. However tonight was extremely disappointing. We called earlier in the afternoon to see if they were seating on the patio and made a reservation for two and a dog. We got there a little late but when I finally talked to one of the servers she said the reservation didn’t matter and told me, as well as another group of people who had shown up, to go ahead and sit at one of the two open tables. We sit down and proceed to wait. We watch the other group get menus, watch other people sit and also get menus, while the wait staff walked by us as if we weren’t there. I sent my fiancé inside to ask about getting menus/service and he was told they had to find menus. We continue to wait, watch another couple sit and get menus, meanwhile the other group that had gotten there the same time we did already had all their drinks. Finally the same server I originally talked to comes over and tells us that they’re trying to figure out who is covering our table. When I reminded her that I told her we had a reservation, and she told me to sit at the table that was open, she was rude and said she was just coming out to explain the situation. I asked her why she told me to sit there if no one was assigned to this table and she just told me it wasn’t in her group of tables she was assigned to. She then said we could continue to “go back and forth” or wait for menus, at which time I decided to leave because I couldn’t believe how rude she was being when it was her fault in the first place, and we had some right to be frustrated for sitting there being ignored by the entire staff for at least 20 minutes. Needless to say, we will not...
Read moreDecent grub and atmosphere; wait staff could be a bit slow and inattentive even though it wasn't super busy; cooks seem to need a little refresher on cooking timing... Started off decent. Friendly and welcoming seating. Waitress forgot to ask a few things when taking our order, but no biggie. Drinks were slow to get to the table. App was their Garlic Bread +shrimp, which was really good. Salads came out after, which was fresh, and the Asian dressing was a great choice. Drinks were empty at this point but the waitress didn't ask if we wanted more drinks. When the entrees arrived the waitress asked can I get you anything else, and I was like, how about some drinks? The Entrees weren't bad, I personally had their signature Pattaconk Burger, ordered medium, but came out well-done. Didn't complain, it was still good, and I was too hungry to wait for them to recook. Blackened salmon had no issues. Scallops came out cool, cooked, but likely were sitting out for a while. Dinner was just about finished, and still no drinks. Drinks come, we ask for a to-go box and a check, get the box and wait another 15 min for the check until the waitress comes by again and asks if we need anything else. I'm sure I was getting a little short at this point, but just said check please, with maybe a noticeably...
