Dropped in for an open mat with their BJJ team, Iron Jiu Jitsu. Couldn't have had a better experience. They're easy to find and the quality of instruction was excellent. I got to roll with Professor Jeff and a few of the students and their skill level was great. Professor Jeff truly cares about his students development not just in skill but as human beings, evidenced by a young blue belt Nola who I had the pleasure of working with as well. The facility is large enough for multiple groups to be rolling simultaneously as well. The school was also very clean.
Highly recommend anyone traveling hobbyist or competitors traveling through or interested in BJJ contact the school and schedule a class (which I think can be done on their website as well.)
Thank you Iron Jiu Jitsu for a wonderful...
Read moreDefinitely the best Brazilian Jiu Jitsu studio in Pilsen, Chicago. Professor Jeff Yumul has been able to teach me beautiful sweeps, passes, and finishes to up my game. His BJJ techniques has rubbed off onto me and continues to improve my techniques. The guys has competed in the Pan Am Games and worlds so you know he's going to help and push his students to proper technique and fast progressions. Best of all you get to do Yoga afterwards to finish after training. I don't know any studio in Chicago that does Yoga and BJJ combination but BJJ X YOGA. Definitely come roll with him and improve your sweep and/or leg lock game to add more tools to...

Jeff, his assistant instructors, and his students have all been very welcoming allowing me to become part of the club. Not just BJJ but the social aspects of becoming a club member. Sensai Jeff even allowed a judo instructor of mine start to teach his students Judo. This is a great club with friendly people and a great place to develop skills as a all around grappler from take downs...
