Trying to enroll in an online summer course. I attend another university, but have taken a summer course before at DePaul. I reapplied and I also called IT to get access to my old account to sign up. I then tried signing up with the old account but couldn't find the course I wanted on the campus connect search (I also didn't have access to enrollment since my account was not active for a few years). I called IT again and he tried to walk me through searching for the class, but he told me to do it the same way I had already and it didn't show up. However, the class was listed as open on the registrar site and on campus connect using a different browsing feature. I was then redirected to admissions. I told the woman in admissions my situation and she looked up the course and told me it was closed. She redirected me to a counselor even though I'm only taking this class in addition to courses at my own university. I am not taking this as replacement for a course at my university. I got no answers from any of the three people I talked to. My dad, an adjunct professor at DePaul, then called. I was added to the call and once again we talked to three seperate people. The final person we spoke to was the only one who was at all helpful. Turns out the class was not closed or full and I could still enroll. He said that my application was submitted and complete. And I should receive a decision soon and to check online the status of my application and look for an email with directions on how to enroll. He said the process should be quick since I'm only applying as a visiting student. I checked that day and the next couple of days and the status of my application was submitted. I have finally received my letter of acceptance in the mail even though it was sent prior to my checking my status online. So I had been accepted but the website still had my status as submitted. I am still unable to enroll. My letter says I should receive information on how to access campus connect and on setting up a password. I have not received that email yet and it's been 3 days since my acceptance. I'm now going to having to call on 4 separate occasions. This class starts this coming week and enrollment closes Tuesday. Will not take another class here and would not recommend trying to....
Read moreJune 3 2022:. "Graduation Day" came from another school than DePaul University. Don't hesitate to transfer schools when you are not treated fairly. You will find a way, hopefully.
Degree finally came from San Diego State University after I made up deficiency in grade point average. I could not get a passing grade in many of my courses as I struggled for years toward a bachelor's degree in business administration.
DePaul didn't discriminate against me and my grades became a lot of "As", except one hostile journalist/teacher who gave me a "C-".
Unfortunately, and I saw it coming, I could not deliver the one element in a final paper he was looking for in emphasis.
After 9 years in school:. Harper Junior College, Roosevelt University, San Diego Community College, San Diego State University, and DePaul University, I graduated in 1991, when I was 53 years old with nearly five years in a leg cast and maybe six operations to save my right leg, primarily from my bad treatment at San Diego State University. I had previously passed a Real Estate Salesman exam in 1978 in the 90's. So I knew it wasn't me. I gave blood during a...
Read moreI am originally from the Chicago area (I now live in Hawaii). My (very bright) 15 yr old daughter & I have been discussing where she'd like to attend college (my son attends DU) and Chicago is where she wants to be.
Sooo...I start researching and researching. Now, as always, I take with a grain of salt when I read online reviews, however, I delved quite deeply into the Milo Yiannopulos debacle that happened about a year ago, and what happened after the fact. It was ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING and reprehensible how that entire situation was handled, and their resolution was even worse.
No thank you, I'll be sending my daughter to a university that will not suppress her right to free speech and/or allows an absolute circus to occur, while standing by and doing nothing. While those students that caused the disturbance also have a right to free speech, they do not have the right to stand in the way of others free speech and their actions were completely despicable. They, along with DePaul, ought to be ashamed...
