First time visiting Chicago, had zero idea of the city Geography...and this Hotel ended up being Perfect. I was able to simply walk there from the Amtrak station.
To start, this is the perfect size Boutique hotel....lobby was quiet, well-organized, and they had lobby associates, who were extremely helpful in booking any events/answering questions.
Huge Shoutout to the doormen, Showtime and Lloyd, as well as Al. They made me feel right at home, and were always welcoming and funny. If you need any advise on the city...just ask Showtime. He's a real Chi-town legend and is an encyclopedia of local knowledge.
Room was extremely nice, especially for a solo traveler...and price was incredible...with fees came out to about 220/night. All the other hotels in city seemed...packed, far more expensive, and the locations weren't as convenient, or the locations were extremely touristy.
Extremely convenient area and very safe. You would need to go a few miles south to actually reach "south side". Located in a less than 5 min walking radius area are many nice restaurants (go to sofi for italian) and a 7 eleven. Also EXTREMELY convenient..the bike/scooter path is steps outside the hotel. Just grab your scooter/bike and you can navigate to the river walk in 5-10 minutes, and all other parts of downtown as well. I COULD NOT stress enough how Convenient and crucial this was.
The combination of the Price, Location, and the Boutique feel of the hotel made this place special. I would stay here 10/10 times. Specifically, If you are a solo traveler or with a partner, this is the hotel to stay. It is still fantastic family stay but as a solo traveler who wanted to be out all day and explore the city, this place was 5 Stars.
Thank...
Read moreVery disappointed with Front desk service. My partner called right before arriving to ask about parking; clerk answered the phone and then went silent after greeting. heard coughing and movement in back ground. after a minute or two, I called hotel on my phone while my partner was still holding on his. I manage to speak to a clerk who informed of an $80.00 a day valet parking fee. Upon check in ; the clerk scanned by ID and erased/ replaced my Choice reservation information. I realized this because I, myself is a choice employee and notice when she asked for my phone number and email address which was on my reservation. I informed her that I booked through choice.com and should have my privilege number attached to my reservation to receive points for my stay. She told me that I would have to contact Choice. I then showed her my reservation through the choice app showing that I will earn an estimated 5,677 points after this stay. She then repeated that I would have to contact Choice. I attempted to return back to the front desk the next morning to get it resolved through a different Clerk; but was informed of the same thing. They never asked me for my choice member number to add back to my folio; just told me to call choice. So now it is a week later and I have to submit my receipt info to choice to add my stay and my points to member history. Hotel Front desk need to be trained on Choice member check ins to avoid any future inconvenience. On a positive note, House keeping was wonderful. I left a $10.00 tip at the end of my stay. And I loved the location, right in the heart...
