After long research I bought Cosmo Range hood COS-QS75 30 inches to use ductless replacing an over the range microwave. It was a good decision !! As many customers said, need 2 people for installation, so to DIY I installed it with my son.Also need to use my own screws, nuts and anchors. Range good looks very sleek and modern. Stainless steel matches very well with other appliances. I covered the empty space of around 7x30 “ with a stainless steel brush polished sheet 20 GA that I bought online (KY based supplier offers customized cuts and very happy too). Result is amazing !!! Still waiting for charcoal filter (USPS delay) but even without it, everything is much better when cooking. Regarding noise, it’s acceptable. Much better than my OTR microwave. Noise is a very personal issue but for us it’s OK. Using iOS app, I got 60, 65, 70, 73 db for level 1 to 4 respectively at around 3 ft away from range. Very happy with this range hood !!!! So, there I was. Knee deep in the process of preparing to grill Brussel sprouts on my stovetop surface. The sprouts were drizzled with EVOO and sprinkled with Parmesan Cheese. I turned the gas on then attempted to turn my Cosmo 36" series liquid hot magma wind tunnel on and low and behold. No workie. It appears that the sun was not in alignment tonight. I called Cosmo Customer Service and spoke to the Queen Zee of Customer Service who instructed me to take a video of the issue at hand, send appropriate order details, S/N, etc. via file attachment and SHAZAMM...part is on the way. Have has the Cosmo stainless range vent hood for about 6 months now. It is a top quality product and functions as well as many other products costing considerably more. It has a very good CFM range and at top Range it easily moves as much air as the "Professional Units" However, it is far quieter in operations than most other vent hoods, especially at the higher speeds. Installation is not difficult, however care must be maintained to ensure the proper sized and run of vent pipe is made. When using the flexible vent pipe provided for a short run, take care not to leave it compressed such that it interferes with the damper.
