My husband sustained massive injury to his eyes several months ago requiring him to wear glasses for the purposes of his commercial driving tests, but now it was no longer optional. It was a matter of safety. I have to rave about the customer service at this location. Joe, Ruben, and Marty where my saviors last night when they went above and beyond to help me make sure my husband had the ability to take advantage of a new opportunity to obtain employment at a company he very much needed and wanted to be at. The three of them together really showed why Costco’s business model and customer service is a cut above. My husband had a last-minute opportunity to take a driving test for a job he really wanted but the only slot they had available was at 8 AM the next morning. And we had just ordered replacement glasses and received a text saying they were ready earlier that day. As I hauled rear up to the doors of Costco I saw that indeed they did not close at 8 PM like I thought they did not having checked the website before I came running down, but instead their entrance door was rolled down and the only customers in the building were walking out while while employees were checking receipts. My heart dropped but undaunted I slipped past the people standing guard at the door and trotted over to the optical department counter where there was only a person who was making sure that the place was cleaned and sanitary after a long day. There was not an optical assistant inside. I turned around and saw two men walking alongside one another with badges on their chests and I asked them if there was anyone who could help me in optical. I apologized saying I realized they were closed but I had an emergency and I explained the situation. Joe and Ruben explained that all the optical assistants were gone for the day and that they had the keys. Most stores would’ve turned me away at that point as I was clearly one of the last few people in the store not to mention the fact that I had just walked in all blasé as if I were someone. Well apparently at Costco I am someone. Joe and Ruben began asking various employees if they were optical certified and then when they could not find anyone in the store who was they started calling employees who had left just left. Joe asked Ruben to go and check the lockbox to see if optical had left any keys there as the entire area was secured for the close of the store. I asked if perhaps the store manager had a set of keys again apologizing and thanking them for even trying. Joe glanced up at me and smiled and said I am the store manager. So that answered that question. But Ruben came back with a set of keys and when they opened the drawers there were hundreds of glasses to find one set in. An Easter egg amongst hundreds. At that time another associate named Marty came up and she understood how the optical organization worked and explained that to them as they diligently on their knees sorted through glasses until they found my husband‘s with Marty’s help. They did this after hours for a customer who had literally slid in under the car door. And they did it because my husband‘s test was too early in the morning for me to come and pick them up before his test. I just don’t have words beyond the many that I have used here to sing their praises. I realize it will probably be Joe who reads this Google review and responds, if at all, however if Corporate gets word of this you have beyond good people at the E. H St., Costco in Chula Vista. Bravo. So many grateful thanks to Costco for their affordable optical options, but moreso, my sincerest thanks and appreciation for your employees and management who understand the meaning of customer service in ways that are rarer and rarer in our...

Read moreCostco, we have always trusted you for your strong reputation and for backing high-quality products and services. That trust is what led us to choose Sunrun when we saw their tent set up inside your warehouse. We believed your endorsement meant they were reliable and trustworthy. Unfortunately, this has turned into one of the worst experiences we’ve ever had, and it’s directly tied to your recommendation.
Sunrun installed a solar system at my mom’s house, and it has been nothing but problems. They initially wired our house incorrectly, which caused repeated issues like tripped breakers when using our microwave. The city inspection then required them to rewire the system to meet standards, but this fix resulted in our pool’s electrical system not working at all. When we called Jesus Guzman, our Sunrun contact, he told us they’d wire it back after the inspection passed. This feels completely unethical and dangerous—our home shouldn’t be wired incorrectly at any point, even temporarily, just to pass inspection.
To make matters worse, earlier tonight after Sunrun came to address the pool wiring issue, the power in the entire house went out while I was cooking dinner for my kids. I had to call Costco because Sunrun doesn’t offer a 24/7 line for tech support or an electrician. A Costco employee was kind enough to say he’d escalate the issue and reach out to his contacts. I truly hope Costco will stand by its member and advocate for us because we trusted your endorsement when choosing Sunrun.
This entire ordeal has been a nightmare. My mom has had to take multiple days off work to deal with inspections and repairs, and Sunrun’s dismissive attitude and unprofessional behavior have made everything worse. Jesus Guzman has ignored our calls and texts, leaving us to deal with the mess they created. The power outage tonight is the final straw—we need Costco to intervene and ensure Sunrun fixes this properly.
Costco, this is a plea for accountability. Sunrun should not be allowed in your warehouse unless they can deliver the quality and reliability we’ve come to expect from you. Please review your partnership with them and ensure they make things right for customers like us who trusted your endorsement. Until then, I can no longer recommend Costco-backed services to...
