Northgate González Market — Local services in Chula Vista

Rude, unfriendly treatment by a female worker at the hot food department. I asked her about the price of the pound of carnitas. She gave me the price but not without telling where the prices were posted, that’s rude and disrespectful. Why? Because I didn’t ask her where the prices were. I asked her what the price was. I ordered one pound and asked her if I could get some cilantro and chopped onions to put in my tacos and, she immediately replied the carnitas do not come with chopped onion and cilantro but, she would give me some as a courtesy. Again, I did not ask her if it was a courtesy. I told her I always get salsa and cilantro and onions when I buy carnitas, without any comments, or unsolicited explanations.. I told her I didn’t need to hear any of those comments she was making because I already knew all that. I told her I was not a new customer, I said I had been shopping there for years, since the store opened and I am very familiar with the way all Northgate markets do business because, I have shopped at most of their stores. Bottom line is this: I believe this woman did not want to do her job and it showed in the way she responded to each and every request I made, as a buying customer. Recommendation: Employees who do not have people skills should not be allowed to perform jobs that involve having contact with customers. Thanks for reading...

I don't work to far but I just walked to north gate food carneceria place and was craving a torta. So of course it's busy and I take a number and wait a few mins which is fine. Then when the employee helps me I ask for a torta de Hamon and he says they don't have any. I point to the menu and say why advertise it? That's false advertisement!!!! He puts it on his manager and says he is not in charge of the signs. I ask for manager and he said that he is not in he left. So I then ask for supervisor and then the employee goes and removes the price of it and puts foil paper on picture of torta de Hamon. I ask do you have any Tortas at all?? The employee says well we sell Tortas, but don't have any now because we don't have the ingredients for it??? Well I am an individual with challenges but nevertheless have I given up hope finding a comfortable environment that has some authentic mexican food, large variety of choices in hot and ready for order of mexican food. Don't get me wrong, I'm able to buy the ingredients to make my own dish, yet sometimes I would rather take it easy and get the food that I want to enjoy but freshly cooked prepared and take it to go. As a matter of fact I just received an opportunity for an interview for this morning, I feel they could use a talented gentleman like myself that is a great and outstanding customer service representative that has English as my primary language.
