Over all they will give you what you want on the boarder of citrus heights and Roseville, bowling. the selection of balls was ok. I had a hard time finding a weight that fit my hand and weight preference. There was mostly low weight with small finger holes and heavy weight with large finger holes. Lanes were nice and it wasnt crowded like Country club lanes often seems to be. Don't expect anything else from them though. Decent service at the bar and only half of the apparent employees will be wearing anything that indicates that they actually work there. Read on for the full experience. I went here for a friends birthday party and arrived early so I looked for something to do while i waited, aside from bowling. I looked for an arcade, pool table or a dart board and found nothing; so I decided to sit at he only attraction aside from their lanes, a bar. It seemed like they had their regulars coming in as I waited for over an hour (My friends neglected to tell me that it was pushed back). The bartender was attentive and got my drink and a refill right away. overall that was a really good casual bar experience. A couple of friends came everything was good and just like any other place. Once everyone arrived we got our lane and 2 pitchers of beer from the bartender who checked IDs before pouring then went to play our game. In the middle of our second round a mid to late 20's white man and a heavy set dark skinned man (who was playing country music in the bar) came to us grabbed my friends drink and said "Underage people often pour beer into soda cups. So I need to see ID's, especially you and you." He pointed at two of the girls in the group, then said "So I am going to pour this into the beer cup." He checked our ID's (all over 23) and the two men went on their way. The biggest issue is that these two men had no indication that they worked for Fireside Lanes. They both were wearing black street clothing and approached us quite aggressively in my and a couple other members opinions. The man didn't even care when I went to hand him my ID he started to say "I don't nee" then I handed it to him after her had checked all of the girls ID's. The next day I talked to a coworker who lives in that area about it and he said "Oh yeah they are A**les there, I heard the bartender talking St about some customers while I was waiting...
Read moreWe have had my son's birthday here several times. Last year we had tried a different location because he wanted glow bowling and the timing had worked better for a different location. BIg mistake! We returned here again this year with a big sigh of relief. The service was far superior here. (Thank you again Lisa!!!)
Yes, some things like the screen graphics are more updated and flashy at other bowling alleys, but I found the trivia on the scoreboard very intriguing. This was most welcome since I was unable to bowl due to physical reasons. I also appreciate that the bathrooms are nice. Yes, they take credit cards and are not cash only like a different reviewer posted.
Should you have small kids it is helpful to know the following: The lightweight balls are located in a small room behind the main desk. Ask the staff to put up bumpers. Just know that these will be up for the duration of the game and can't be changed for each player. If needed, they have ramps available for kids to place a ball on, aim, then push. Just ask the staff to put one at your lane. Should you have a celebration here, the only outside foods allowed are cupcakes (perhaps a birthday cake). I found this perfect paired with pitchers of drinks from the snack bar.
I didn't give this 5 starts only because some things could be updated. All in all everything we used was functional and the staff was extremely friendly. Thank you! We...
Read moreThis was our 3rd visit, while the first 2 visits were good, this 3rd and last one was worst, i am never taking my family there again, even if it is for FREE; First off the attendant Britanny was so rude; we had 4 adult and 3 kids in the party, she said we had to use one lane when tons of lanes were free; when requested she did give us 2 lanes, but she did not like it, she was so rude when handing off shoes, we felts so un-comfortable, may be she had issues with our skin color. She puts us next to old couples who were drinking alcohol, they had huge problem with kids, one of them was so drunk and made really bad remarks and used abusive language in front of the kids. When we went to talk to her asking if we could change the lane, she refused saying those people are about to leave but would NOT change lane. Rest of the staff also did not seemed very friendly, NOT a family place at all, never...
