My daughter went to Star Spa for a regular pedicure. The lady that took care of her insisted & kept pushing the $40 pedicure because her feet were dried, my daughter told her NO on NUMEROUS occasions. She finally caved in from the pressure and told her yes.
What happens next is awful. From the scorching hot water and the chemicals in the $40 pedicure her foot became very swollen & painful. Yes, they do add blue salt at the start however, sheās had pedicures before with the salt added to the water and has NEVER had a reaction like this one. She suffers from Eczema.
Heather had the lady change out the water. That didnāt help at that point. She was charged for the pedicure in full! I phoned Heather and explained what had happened and told her she was my daughter & that I was so disappointed, applaud, at the fact that she would allow any customer to leave her salon with her foot looking the way it did.
I firmly believed that she should not have been charged or AT LEAST charged half. According to Heather it was, ā my daughterās fault for not saying she suffered from Eczemaā. There are NO SIGNS or mention in her Salon stating , that if you suffer from Eczema you might have a reaction from a pedicure and the ingredients that are used or any and all salt that my be added to the water. Please advise nail tech before.
She would give her 50% discount on her next visit. Expressed to her that my daughter NEVER wants to return to her Salon due to the awful, painful, lack of insensitivity, & experience she went through. She extended the 50% to me on my next visit. I WILL NEVER return to her Salon after being a loyal customer for years.
As to how ANY owner would allow a patron to leave their establishment with their foot looking this way and not TRY to show empathy and try to make it right the first time before they leave⦠is totally incomprehensible. The bottom line is, that the $40 is worth more to Heather than to keep my daughter and myself...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDecent enough for the price. Thereās a lot going on in this little space. Some of the nail tech are super nice. Be mindful not all of them are. Everyone is talking over everyone else. The music is so low you canāt hear it. Thereās no way to relax there. They swamp themselves with people but then donāt have the time to take care of all of them even when they have an appointment. There was a Mexican stand off between the mother of a customer and a nail tech while I was there. Not very cool on the client the customer she was nickle and diming the nail tech. (All I could think was this poor woman has to be subjected to punishment for an irresponsible mom allowing her kid to make choices that she had to pay for but also like if you canāt afford it like donāt bring her). This was just during my pedicure which was basic at best had better for the same price at other places. When it came to getting my nails done I was grateful that this place was cheap cause my nails look the price I paid for them. They are passing builder gel off as hard gel which if you get hard gel youāll know the difference. Not a terrible experience but not over the top great wasnāt offered anything to drink and it literally took them 3 hours to do my pretend hard gel and pedicure. I wonāt go back but this place is good if you need something done but you donāt have high expectations and you have all the time in the world to wait for them to finish what...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNice staff, but they do not keep appointments times or with the people you requested. The staff is not trained well, and they are a bit disorganized. They may be under staffed. Everything felt extremely rushed! And being shortstaffed should not be something that affects how you treat your clients. Nothing about my service was enjoyable. When you go get your nails done you want to relax and everyone was so loud in particular the staff. Maybe realize that your job Is to make someone feel pampered and enjoy the experience not just to get their nails done. This is very disappointing! The staff was more concerned with their friends and chitchatting with them then they were how I felt and how I enjoy the experience.I was not even able to sit down to get my nails done I had to stay in the chair for pedicures and it was very awkward and uncomfortable because I had to lean to the side and stretch my arm out so I could get rushed through instead of putting me in the manicure chair so I could be comfortable. Itās more important for them to make more money than it is to have...
