Dishonest Pricing, Poor Service & Rude Attitude! Will Never Return!
I have been coming to New Glen Cove Nail Spa for years and always paid around $35 for a regular gel pedicure. This time, I clearly asked for a regular gel pedicure with plain white polish (nothing special), plus $6 extra to remove old polish — which I agreed to.
The pedicure I received was uneven and sloppy. My toenails were left crooked, and when I politely asked for them to be fixed, I was met with a rude attitude. The result still looks uneven (see photo attached). When it came time to pay, I was shocked — I was charged $60 for a “regular gel pedicure” plus $16 for a regular manicure (which is fine that is a normal price I pay). The tech insisted I had agreed to this price, which is absolutely not true. I know their services and pricing very well (see photo of their posted price board I took just days ago).
When you look at the price board I did NOT Ask for the “sea breeze spa pedicure or the hot spring stone spa pedicure” and did not receive any special treatment for this pedicure to pay double the price.
This is dishonest and sneaky pricing, taking advantage of customers by inflating costs after the service. If I am paying double the normal price, I should at least receive quality work and respectful service — which I did not. I no longer trust this salon and will not be returning. Customers deserve honesty and professionalism, not dishonesty and...
Read moreI've been going to New Glen Cove Nails for 3 years now & have nothing but compliments for the staff. Ann, one of the owners is a pleasure. She greets you by name and accommodates you whenever possible. Lily does both my powder fills and pedicures. She's thoughtful, courteous, and most importantly, highly skilled and conscientious. I couldn't help but notice some poor reviews On Yelp, which seem to be based on perceived rudeness. While my preference would be that the ladies all be fluent in English, that's not the case. Based on my observations they're all are very sweet but many are unable to communicate well in English. Ann, however is quite fluent (with an accent) and will always step in to assist. They have a great selection of colors and products. They get very busy so if you have a favorite technician, appointments are best. They run on time, which in my experience is unusual. They use air filtration, which is important to our health and proper sanitization techniques - all very important to me. Parking is relatively easy. All in all,...
Read moreI tried this place on s friends recommendation .i had the worst experience from the moment i walked in . I told them i wanted uv gel off amd to get a manicure and pedicure . To that they replied but nails look good . I said again i want them off but added for medical reasons . I figured it would be smooth sailing from there . I was wrong . I had one nail that was short snd asked they cut all nails shorter . I was then told my nails will be too short then. They finally cut them but they even argued the color i wanted to use was not the one the tech liked ! When i went to leave i was hoping she would hold the chair as i use a walker . Well that did not happen . I nearly fell trying to get up from a...
