La Famiglia Pizzeria & Restaurant — Restaurant in City of Glen Cove

I want to start out saying I was contacted by the boss, After she called me up and apologized for challenging me, her rudeness, assumption of me trying to create trouble and lying when I had no need to. She took accountability which few people do today. I was surprised she did make a effort to show me that she does care, and offer me a credit for my next order. I do appreciate that being said I want to share my experience today.

The delivery driver left my pizza on the ground he was running when I called out to him saying you can't hand the pizza to me he laughed and went into his car; who does that ??? so I called up the restaurant the Female Boss answers I explained the situation the driver left my food on the ground she did ask me if the pizza was wet? and if I wanted it remade but realistically who would want another pizza if it's being left on the ground again?? I told her I'd check the pizza and call her back.

I was shocked cause they never done that before I was in for a surprise today when I called back she was rude and challenging what I was telling her she says how long she worked with so and so driver like what does that have to do with anything?? who wants there pizza on the ground?? it gets better she is surprised that the food is kinda cold like what ?? It's raining and cold out if you leave food on the ground it's going to get cold she then says to me that I am the one who is making the problems huh?? acts like my food being on the ground is no big deal are you serious?? I tipped the driver after they had the audacity to ask for a tip in advance for the driver for him to be so lazy he can't wait 10 seconds to hand the pizza to me seriously??

For a Long Island Pizzeria this was good and we would order food as well and even dine in for dinner. For some time now it was mostly delivery. I am not sure what happened but I am done with this establishment. My past few orders have been downright impossible to enjoy.

It is just not good business when you receive a large pie that is not fully cooked in the oven where the dough is pale yellow and chewy. The sauce was good (which hasn't changed thankfully) but today's order is the final straw.

We always had a good experience here for a long time and it is why we kept supporting this place but my previous orders over the past year that have me at this point. For example:

-Ordered a grandma's pie and what we received was nothing of the such. Was some sort of margherita mixture with regular cheese that goes on a regulars pie instead of fresh mozzarella if that was what they sending us by mistake idk. Let me also add it was delivered well done and burnt which was a first from here. How it was boxed up and given the okay to be delivered was shocking to us. We had 3 or 4 squares that were safe to eat and threw it out the rest.

-Baked Zita ordered with chicken and the chicken was forgotten and was to the cold side when delivered late.

-Last which is comedy, two different times we ordered a large avocado salad with grilled chicken and each time the chicken was not added to the order. When I'm ordering a twenty dollar salad only to see my wife disappointed its quite frustrating.

Let me say add the items above were our usual orders and larger than just these items at times and calling to complain is not my thing. I cannot waste my hard earned money to be...

The food is mediocre at best here. Atmosphere is probably the best they have because of where it's located but... the service? 100% incompetent in so many ways. The waiter left our water cups empty, wine glasses empty, our other family members cups empty as well. No additional drinks were offered. The waiter spent majority of the time on his phone. Than on top of that, when paying our bill my credit card was declined due to security reasons I have set for it due to prior identity fraud. When I sent the same card back after addressing the denial with my bank, I was successful at paying my tab. Left a decent tip despite the poor effortless treatment. I proceeded to leave and as I was leaving the establishment, boy what a surprise.... I would've expected a "have a good night" or a "thanks see you next time". Instead I was yelled at from across the restaurant (in front of other customers) " WOAH WOAH WOAH YOU DIDNT PAY STOP RIGHT THERE". As a minority, that has been through discriminative moments as such, this was VERY humiliating! In a low tone and politely I did respond "I'm sorry mam but I am not trying to rob you, my tab is paid". I proceeded to walk out and refuse to ever walk into this establishment ever again. Poor treatment of patrons, despite what you look like or who you are is something I do not condone and will be very outspoken about. 0 stars if possible....
