UPDATE: I initially gave a 1-star rating, but decided to raise it to 4 stars due to the owner's quick acknowledgment and response to my public complaint. While I understand that their response may be part of managing their reputation, I genuinely appreciate the effort they are making to address and resolve the issues. It shows a commitment to improvement, which is important to me as a customer.
Today, I went to return a dress and left feeling very offended by the cashier’s behavior. She acted like I was trying to commit fraud just because the description in their system didn’t match the actual dress. That's an internal issue for their store—not my problem! The fact is, I bought the dress there a week ago, but my daughter ended up choosing a different one for her event, so I returned it with the correct tag and receipt from when I purchased it. The manager instructed the cashier to process the return, but she still needed to verify it and looked at me as if she’d just caught a criminal and was told to let them go.
Although I’m tempted, I won’t mention her name here. However, your associates definitely need training on how to be respectful and courteous—including in their body language!
What struck me was that she seemed to think she had outsmarted someone, like she had cracked a case or had a valid reason to be suspicious. It’s laughable! I had to do an exchange without my receipt, I had bought my puppy some treats but they smelled awful which was out of the ordinary as I purchase the same bag repeatedly so I knew something was off, and also shower gel because I didn’t realize it had dyes added, my cashier was very polite and helpful, she scanned my id so I could exchange for another set of treats and shower gel; however the other cashier who wasn’t even the one helping me had a very rude attitude towards me, 0 customer service oriented, she kept coming back and saying comments like “oh I’ve never seen this shower gel here”, threw the treats bag away and she wasn’t satisfied and came back and say to the cashier out loud “she probably didn’t even buy it from here”, um excuse me? I understand people can have a bad day but that’s crossing the line it’s profiling customers let alone rude but super disrespectful!    Read moreOn September 14, 2024, my sister and I had the pleasure of shopping at TJ Maxx, and I must highlight the exceptional customer service we received from Shanaya (Sales Associate) and her manager, LaToya M. We stumbled upon the cutest little girl’s dress, but unfortunately, it was missing a second piece (clearly a set since it was on a double hanger) and had no tag.
We decided to ask for 50% off due to the missing item. Shanaya, initially unsure, sought guidance from her manager. LaToya M. kindly explained store policy, which didn’t allow for the discount. We protested—politely, of course—and LaToya, showing patience and poise, escalated the issue. After a brief consultation, she returned and approved the 50% discount, instructing Shanaya to process it.
Both ladies remained calm, gracious, and incredibly helpful throughout the entire exchange. We left not only thrilled with our purchase but deeply appreciative of their professionalism and willingness to go the extra mile.
