I visited the shop on 07/25/20 and I witnessed the most disturbing thing. I ordered the acai bowl which cost around $9.95. I requested fresh fruits from the fridge because I have been to the store quite a few times and I saw flies pitching on the fruits that were just sitting in the fruit area. I have been a customer for 7 years and I didn't want to stop coming to the shop because I saw flies pitching on the fruits during the summer. Instead I worked around it and requested fruit directly from the fridge While my food was being prepared, a woman and a child walked off the street and came in and went right behind the counter. They were both carrying KFC bags and would you believe it, they put the bags right on the counter in the serving area where the fruits were being chopped and the bag handle went right on the melon that he was preparing to serve me. This woman was not a server neither was she wearing a mask or gloves. I politely raised my concerns with the guy who was prepping the fruits and he was like DO YOU KNOW WHO SHE IS? So I replied no I don't know who she is....he said she was his daughter and I had no right to raise such an issue and by doing so I was only trying to create a problem. At the end of the day this was a grown woman, its not a situation where it was a child and he was one of the unfortunate parents that were impacted by COVID 19 and had to take his child to work with him because school was out or the local day care center was closed. This was a grown woman, she could have waited on him to finish doing what he was doing. The man proceeded to ask me who do I think I am, basically saying who am I to his daughter; SUGGESTING THAT I WAS NOBODY and that I WAS NOTHING COMPARED TO HER. I told him that there are rules that must be followed with the preparation of food. The man became angry and told me that I was not the one that was going to eat the piece of fruit that was touched by the bag handle that his daughter was holding and rudely remarked: where has your hand been? I am not the one serving food so where my hands have been bears no relevance. I was completely surprised by the total lack of regard coming from this man and the level of apathy ESPECIALLY AT A TIME WHEN PEOPLE HAVE LOST SO MUCH TO A VIRUS WE STILL KNOW VERY LITTLE ABOUT. At the end of the day the person who is going to eat that piece of fruit is also somebody else's child, they too have a family and it was very clear that this man had no intention of discarding of the piece of fruit. He just didn't care...... Its not just COVID 19 that people are concerned about. There are other germs like salmonella, Ecoli and streptococcus bacteria. With all the death from COVID 19 and packed funeral homes and bodies rotting in homes for days before they are picked up, germs are an issue. The fruits are being served cold, there is no heat being applied to them to kill the bacteria and as such I had every right to be concerned . Its people like this man we don't want working in our community This man was asking me who do I think I am.......I will tell you who I am, I am the reason that you have a job. I come into the store where you work and spend $9.95 on a small açaí bowl that I could have made all by myself for less than half the price. He was commenting negatively on why I had to have fruits from the fridge as if it were a problem, when you are paying the bill you can do whatever you want; when I AM paying the bill I get to tell you what I want and what I don't want He finally commented that his daughter would eat whatever her hand touched. I never saw her eat what her hand touched and I never saw him discard of the piece of fruit. If they are doing these things in front of our faces, can you just imagine what they are doing behind our backs. STAY AWAY FROM THE JUICE BAR!!!

I don't typically eat ice cream in America due to having unfavorable experiences after eating ice cream when I was much younger. On June 9, 2025, I entered a restaurant and observed that the establishment had a freezer filled with Ice Cream Factory products. I decided I would enjoy the Caribbean flavor ice cream under the guise that it was authentic and healthy ingredients. Since I really enjoyed ice cream in the Caribbean I knew I would give the Jamaican Rum Raisin a try. I planned my evening to include my rum raisin ice cream. I joyfully indulged in two tablespoons. As I lifted the third spoonful I began reading the nutritional facts and ingredients. I observed the ice cream has an additive known as carrageenan which is often used as an emulsifier to stabilize the ice cream. However, the ingredient is a known carcinogenic. This particularly product does not specify whether the ingredient is food grade or degraded carrageenan. It would be helpful to specify the molecular weight of the carrageenan to allow buyers to make an informed decision. Because of my degree of discomfort with the ingredients in this product, including but not limited to the carrageenan, I discarded the ice cream after eating three tablespoons. I just visited this place for the first time, and I had the Belgian waffle (the half waffle) with one scoop of ice cream. It costs $5.50. I'm giving it 3 stars because the ice cream was very good, and the price you see is exactly what you're paying. The place was packed the entire time, so it speaks to its popularity in the community.

However, I have to mention some issues that I had with my experience which is why I had to take away 2 stars.

First, there was way too many people behind the counter that weren't doing anything. The store itself was already crowded with customers and too see so many people packed behind the counter, not doing anything but talking, just made it look really chaotic.

Second, everyone behind the counter was talking non-stop. Talking to each other, and more importantly, talking over the ice cream. I couldn't even hear the person who was making my order over all of the other employees talking to each other.

Third, there were some sanitary concerns. Some of the employees were wearing hair nets and some of them weren't. Absolutely none of them were wearing gloves. Why aren't you wearing gloves when handling food? This is the main reason why I won't be going back there until their sanitary conditions change.

If none of those things are an issue for you, then prepare to have a nice experience with some tasty,...
