Our area is very lucky to have a quality, full service yarn store like the Grumpy Goat. Susan is a delight: helpful, knowledgeable, and fun to chat with about yarny pursuits! The store has ample parking, a lovely selection of yarns and accessories like needles, hooks, etc. , well organized, very clean, and with great lighting so you can see what you are looking at! There are also classes available, and the owner has always been so willing to special-order anything I might want.
In addition to all that, Susan's community commitment really stands out above and beyond "just a local business." For example, she encourages her customers to make warm items that she collects to be distributed to local warming shelters, and she keeps a Little Free Library near the store, stocked with books and other helpful goodies. These may not seem like big things, but they are big to me--I so appreciate a business owner who cares and shows it in words AND actions.
