Haven for Heroes inc — Local services in City of Port Jervis

I started going to this shop with my old elementary school teacher that I knew since I was a kid back in the day. The first time that I went was when we have discovered that back part of Port Jervis that I didn’t knew existed. So the first couple of times that I went I started buying like one or two little items at a time. And after that I started to buy more comics and such. And after a while going with my old elementary school teacher. I started going with a close friend that I met way back in like 2018 (I think). Now I just want to say that they do have a nice verity of vintage toys, comics, a small verity of pop figures and lots of magic cards. And by lots I mean LOTS of them. I can also say that the staff their are really helpful and nice. I can not really recall having a bad experience here. The only bummer is I just wished that they had more Pokemon card as well. Because every time that I shop there. The first thing that I do is look around for any Pokemon related things that I might be interested in buying. But they sadly do not have much Pokemon related stuff. But it is still a fine shop and it’s perfectly fine. I don’t have any complaints or problems with that. So with that being said if you are a huge comic book fan and geek like I am. And you are in the Port Jervis NY area and you come across this shop pay them a visit. They have a nice selection of items and I can also say that if you are looking for a comic book on a pacific marvel or DC hero or series. or any other comic book title for that matter. Then I’m sure that they will definitely help you out and hook you up. Also good costumer service as well

Johnny Valentino Or...

This store has come to be one of the places i visit most on my time off. Its a place where despite the clutter of new items arriving and the ever growing play area makes even the most claustrophobic person feel calm. I kid when it comes to the clutter and area but am serious when it comes to the fun and tranquility this shop brings.

I've been going to this shop for id say about 4 years, and In my frequent trips it never ceases to amaze me the growth in both a shop and community this place has become. Kids and adults of all ages show up to play an arrangement of board/card/video games and read/discuss comic books and movie iterations of heroes adored by all. The owners Emmett and Doug, as well as the workers Josh, Chris, Ed and the occasional person helping out have always worked hard to make this place feel more like a home to residence in and around the Hudson Valley / Tri-State area. I've seen friendships be created amongst the oddest of people who you'd never expect to let their inner nerd shine, mine including of course. (I mean odd in an endearing way as everyone who goes to Haven [as its known for short] is considered a friend.)

This shop will continue to grow and from the looks of it, it will be getting bigger and better as the months and years go by. The amount of customers grow as the weeks go by and to that adds more to the family/community that haven has worked hard on building.

Been a long time customer of this shop. Have spent thousands of dollars here over the past years and today I called with a question asking if they have an adapter type cord for the original xbox that has a male controller port end and a female usb end. Simple question was also super nice about asking the question initially. Before I could even finish asking the question the guy on the phone interrupted me and said with attitude "nah we only sell whole consoles." Which then I replied "thanks for interrupting me and not letting me finish speaking and Im not asking you to split up a console Im just asking to see if you have this adapter". He replied with more attitude that again they don't split up consoles. Long story short the guy who talked to me on the phone today was extremely short and brisk with me giving me attitude from the start of the initial question and, I've never had a bad experience once with this shop.
