Today was a good day. It didn't start out well but it sure did end well. Long story, short: I had an appointment with Sondra's Fine Jewelry to review my mother-in-law's estate jewelry (to confirm gold vs costume, etc.) - when I arrived I was treated more rudely by the owner than I can remember experiencing ever from a business owner. Missing the sign for the door buzzer upon arrival, Sondra literally made the comment that "the sign is as big as you are!" (I am 100 lbs overweight stemming from a car accident 10 years ago.) She then proceeded to charge me $150/hour for a meeting that was supposed to be at no charge. Needless to say, I picked up my four bags of jewelry and I went across the street, to Northeastern Fine Jewelers and had the best service I have experienced. I had never been to NEFJ but I walked in with my four bags, was warmly greeted by three different people and spent the next 2.5 hours with a lovely, knowledgeable young lady (Gina) who confirmed that I had thousands of dollars in gold and silver and sorted the rest as costume to be auctioned off by an estate liquidator. Nick brought me coffee while Gina worked on the jewelry (at no charge!) and it ended up being a nice experience, doing the dreadful task of going through all of mom's things. Gina and Nick both offered their condolences and Gina and I shared many "mom stories" while we worked. Gina was very knowledgeable - she would make the "uh huh" sound when she picked up a piece and then confirmed that it was valuable under the microscope tool. She was also quite pleasant, accommodating, courteous, professional and a true pleasure to spend the afternoon with.
While at NEFJ, I noticed the huge selection of jewelry and am sending my husband to shop! They have a birthstone white diamond ring that I have been looking years for! A day turned from bad to good within a couple of hours. Kudos Northeastern Fine Jewelry, and thank you so much, Gina and Nick... you are both amazing and I look forward to seeing...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy Daughter is getting married, I have been looking for a Jeweler that can help me with a ring that belonged to my father. I have been to several Jewelers, but they all told me the same thing. No, we can't help you. My father had very small fingers, I do not. It was my intent to wear this ring that my father always wore when my daughter was a little girl, at her wedding. I stopped in at Northeastern Jewelers expecting the same answer, however, the girl who helped me, told me to leave it with them. about a couple of weeks later, another lady contacted me and told me, they were not certain if they could do it here due to the setting of diamonds. I told her, I really wanted to wear it at my daughters wedding in June 2026. She said "great, then we have a little time". She said " Let me call of friend of mine at Tiffany's, this person is amazing. She did, and about a weeks later that person at Tiffany's, did her a favor and made my dad's small ring two sizes larger. Northeastern Jewelers called me and said "your ring is ready". I came into the store and met with Lori, Barbara and a couple of other people. I told them the story with tears in my eyes, Thank you so much for going out of your way to make my dream of wearing my dads ring at my daughters wedding a reality. Thank you Lori, Barbara, for doing a job for me no other Jeweler could do. Thanks again Northeastern...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI found Northeastern Fine Jewelry online by doing a google search. I initially fell in love with a bracelet at a different jewelry store, but due to the cost, I wanted to sleep on it, and then figured I could make a decision the next day. The next morning, I woke up, started googling other places that carried the bracelet, and that's when I found Northeastern Fine Jewelry. The cost of the same bracelet was more than $100 less, so it was a no brainer for me to order from NEFJ. I placed my order and then noticed that I wasn't able to select a size even though the bracelet came in different sizes, so I called the number online and spoke with Thomas Bedian, who was SUPER helpful. He gave me the different measurements for the various sizes and told me the best way to measure at home, so I could make sure that the bracelet was my size. As soon as the shipment went out, Thomas emailed me with the tracking number, and on the day of the delivery, Thomas emailed me again to make sure I was happy with my purchase. Buying jewelry online can sometimes be daunting, but I would absolutely buy from this store again. Huge...
