I am a Pastry Chef and went to Culinary Institute Of America however I wasn't baking on my birthday and can't bake at my home right now due to personal circumstances so I decided to buy a variety of cupcakes instead of a cake so i went to Whiskey Business because it's one of two Gluten-free Bakeries in the area and i was told about it by a friend of mine who knows the owner and does alot of business with her and Sandye I do alot of business with too she and has been my friend for the past two years and on my birthday October 3rd i went into Sandye's Cafe & Cakes Bought some regular Cupcakes then went to get some cupcakes that were Gluten Free from Brianna the owner Of whiskey Business who was very Rude after i left her store, I learned from someone that's she started complaining to other bakers in the area that I posted on my FB page that I made the cupcakes I purchased and she obviously had a misunderstanding about how the post was on my page when I said "My Cupcakes" 🧁 not meaning I made them, as you see in the picture I had Sandye's cupckaes mixed in with whiskey business cupcakes but she went with her assumption and was dramatic on the situation calling it Fraud etc. With her friend Sarah how professional is that.......anyways to make a long story short she complained I cleaned out her display case etc. Well obviously you don't take pride that much in what you make if you complain about people cleaning out your case buying items! I will No longer do business with this bakery because of her Screenshot drama on social media and writing back and forth to each other and looking at people's social media accounts is not Professional at all nor is good Customer Service Skills! I will further my business with Sandye's Cafe & Cakes and if you want Good Gluten Desserts I Highly Recommend Different Blend Bakery on Carmen Road over Whiskey Business on Union Street because their Cupcakes were not good anyways and dry and it's no where near as good as Different Blend Bakery! On Carmen Road! It sad being a owner of Whiskey business and calling people around Schenectady complaining that I gave you a terrible review, too bad Maybe you should of been a little more professional and not complained too much, the review board is there for a reason for people to base their opinions, complaints etc. If you can't handle that then your in the wrong field as a business owner, If you want better quality French Macrons or desserts and Not Dry Cupcakes I suggest you go see Sandye's Cafe & Cakes and Different Blend Bakery because I know they won't complain if you buy out there entire display case or if someone gave them...
Read moreMore flavors of Macaroon than colors in the rainbow.
Now I wanted to try almost everything they had to offer, but be carful, those small macaroons can add up quickly. For my large box I ended up forking over a President Grant, which felt hefty, but if I had as many Italian cookies from another bakery I'd likely have paid the same price.
Not I didn't write down all the flavors of macaroon I got, but I can say that there were several more I did not get as they had chocolate. (and I can't eat the stuff sadly) But on top of those I also bought a key lime blondie, a lemon bar, vanilla cupcake, caramel drizzle cupcake, and a gluten free raspberry drizzle cupcake.
For what I tried I found the blondie to be rather flavorless sadly, but the lemon bar made up for it by being exactly what I think of when it comes to a good lemon bar. Slightly tart, a nice crust, and just a touch of sweetness on top. I didn't get to the cupcakes, but I was able to try a handful of the macaroons. There was a creme brulee, pumpkin spice, vanilla, spiked eggnog, and the earl grey which I caught myself before I chewed too long as it turned out to be chocolate filled. (not exactly my fault, I did mention early on during my selection I can not eat chocolate, but I didn't ask questions about each one)
Overall the macaroons are clearly the breadwinner for this location, but given their sweetness I'd only recommend buying up to four unless you're buying for a party. The service was really nice, with a father and daughter team running things when I visited. Felt kinda cozy because of that vibe. And while the price was steep, it was only because of how many...
Read moreI worked with Bri for my wedding, I just got married at the Maples Estate in early September. We did a small cake for my husband and I to cut, then macarons and cupcakes. Bri was truly one of my absolute favorite vendors to work with! It was so fun and collaborative. I shared our design board and some inspiration photos we had for our wedding, and Bri took it from there! Everything was beautiful, just so cute and all of her desserts are absolutely fantastic! Bri was so good about helping with numbers and figuring out what we needed, which was perfect. She also gave was super clear instructions for what needed to be refrigerated/what we needed to do to make sure the desserts were perfect by serving time.
A few flavor shoutouts are necessary! First, Bri made us a custom fruity pebbles macaron flavor which was amazing and so fun, we love breakfast and wanted something to match that. The crème brûlée macaron is a MUST! The salted caramel cake and frosting is just wow. And a surprise combo for us, brown butter cake and creamsicle frosting is so tasty, we...
