If you are looking to get a quilt made, do not allow them to refer you to Rachel Myers. We went to Tiger Lily in February 2024 with Rachel to pick up the materials. We paid for those material there, the sashing and bonding materials and it came to be $200. We asked her how much this was going to be when it is finished and she said the extra cost would be $300. She asked when we needed it by and we said by late March but if she needed a little extra time thatâs fine (but not six months). A month and a half in she said her child had a cold and she needed a little extra time, completely understandable. Although after that message (end of March) my mom had reached back out in May because she had not heard from Rachel since and asked about the quilt and she did not respond. My mom reached out a week later (May 19th) and Rachel said she would be done in two weeks but she was away with her children prior to that. 12 days later she messaged and said her child had an emergency and would need more time (which again totally understandable because that canât be predicted). My mom told her if she had not started yet we can take back all the materials so she wouldnât have that on her plate but she stated the shirts were cut and assured us she could handle it after her kids appointments were handled that week. My mom did not hear from her for over a month so she reached out again and asked about this quilt but Rachel had not messaged back. I had to finally call Rachel from a different phone number because she would not answer my mother from her phone so I had to resort to a different phone number. I had to tell Rachel I am moving by the end of July and needed this prior to moving. Rachel finally started responding back to the text messages and finally finished this quilt on July 26, 2024. She had told us via text that the extra cost would be $468 instead of the $300 she had stated prior. When met up to pick up the quilt we had expressed our frustration and did not feel like it was a fair price since she had stopped responding to my mothers inquiries about the quilt and it took much longer than she said it would take. Rachel did not utter one apologetic word for not reaching out and did not try to offer a discount for her actions and holding my materials hostage for six months. Truly a vile lady who does not take accountability for her actions. We told her we were going to call Tiger Lily and let them know about our horrible experience with her and she said âIt doesnât matter I get a lot of customersâ so she truly did not feel one ounce of shame for her actions. We also stated we will be reporting her to the Better Business Bureau and she stated âThis is not a business, I do this out of the goodness of my heartâ but yet she didnât seem like she had one when she wasnât able to even say an âI am sorryâ to us for our troubles and her lack of communication. Afterwards we had called the shop and they were very apologetic, unlike Rachel. We explained to them that they should never recommend her to other people and I hope they donât because this was truly a frustrating experience for me and my mother who was just trying to get me a quilt for my birthday back in March 2024. Again we understand if you have set backs but just be upfront with these and be apologetic and more understanding from where we are...
