I purchased four tickets to a show at Saranac only to find that the band I intended to see was FALSELY ADVERTISED. I had been sent promotional email to let me know my favorite band would be nearby, but evidentally this was a ploy to get people to buy tickets that couldn't be refunded. Saranac was completely unresponsive to help solve this issue, even after sending photo proof of the false advertisement. I contacted Saranac before the show when I started having doubts that the band would be present due to their touring location. I was given the run around: told to email here and call there, not one person taking responsibility for the mistake and certainly no remorse for falsely advertising a show.
It is such a shame that a local business like this has such disregard for their customers. I have never experienced such poor customer service and can be sure to never bring my business here again. I am an avid supporter of local businesses and try to buy as local as possible so it's unfortunate that I have to take all Saranac beers off my list. Not only is false advertisement distasteful and illegal, but it feels like I've been robbed of over $150. I rarely write poor reviews but I feel the necessity to share my experience so that someone else doesn't have to go through it too. Shame on...
Read moreSaranac I'm deeply disappointed with a company that I once revered as one of the great local breweries and venues in New York State. After some friends and I purchased four tickets to a show that was falsely advertised, we made numerous attempts to contact Saranac to explain the situation and to hopefully be reimbursed for the mistake. When we actually managed to speak with a person and to present visual documentation, we were continuously dismissed and given some poor rationalization deferring fault entirely. It brings me no great pleasure to profess this so publicly, but Saranac, you have demonstrated the worst customer service that I have ever been witness to and I genuinely hope that you don't continue to treat loyal patrons the same as you've treated us. I'm sorry to report that your fan base a been slightly diminished and moving forward, we will no longer support the brand. What is most unfortunate is that we had a group of a dozen or so planning to watch Blues Traveler this month as well, but have since changed those plans and will bring our business to Ommegang. I trust that this review won't deal any great blows to the company, nor is that my intention, but I do hope that it prompts some much needed...
Read moreI really wanted to like this place and the beer was pretty good. But once I arrived it just went down hill. We were told that tours were done hourly and so we showed up at 450 and paid for the tour ($5 for a tour and a beer at the end, pretty good deal).
The bell rang at 5 and a group of 7 met at the bottom of the stairs. We were all sipping a beer and so being a bit late on a Saturday afternoon is ok. But once we were more than half done with our drinks and 20 minutes had passed there was still no guide. Someone went to go inquire and someone came down a few minutes later and we took off.
We finished just before 6 and that was ok if a bit rushed. The brewery it self is in a really cool building and it’s a great place for a beer.
I could have forgiven the tour being late but the shop downstairs refused to sell individual bottles despite having a create your own six pack area. Dividing by 6 should be a skill that everyone has. I was leaving the brewery for dinner and I was flying out the next day and only wanted a single beer for later. So I left with no more beer and no desire to come back.
Also if you take the name of the Utica club away you are left with a glorified light beer similar to...
