Planet Fitness — Local services in City of Yonkers

Oh where to start. I've attended this gym for 7+ years. Where it's no LA fitness, it surely served its purpose for the price. I have a few complaints here and there but nothing like what I experienced today. Arriving at the gym around the same time I arrive everyday I go to park in the same spot I park every day and I notice a woman is letting her unleashed dog defecate in the parking lot. I ignore it and continue to pull into the parking space stopping so her dog can finish his business. This woman begins waving her arms and throwing her hands up as if I was going to run over her dog. About 2 mins later this woman begins to walk into the building WITH THE DOG, I just shook my head. As I'm gathering my belongings the woman returns and starts banging on my window. She proceeds to bang on my window and yell that where I was parking was not a parking literally through my window. I cracked the window and calmly asked if I could help her. She yells again for me to move my car this was not parking. I told her I've been going here for years and always parked here and even witness other gym members parking in this same area. I also pointed out there were no signs stating otherwise. She informed me she was the "owner" and she's telling me to move my car, yelling and waving her arms. I asked for proof of identification and she refused, telling me she will just have my car towed. She asked me if I wanted her to get the manager. I explained if you're the owner why would I need the manager? She finally stormed off and feeling uncomfortable I decided to google another Planet Fitness in the area. Before I could move she returned yelling and banging on my window. This time flashing a business card, saying "her, she won't move". Another woman accompanied her (Virginia) who was rolling her eyes at this irate and uncontrollable woman. I cracked my window and explained to the woman that all I asked for was identification and she was acting very irate and quite frankly rather scary. I explained that I was parking where I've always parked and have seen other members parked and she upset that I interrupted her dogs potty time. Virginia said she knows (agreeing others park there) but asked very nicely if I could move because she would like for me to move. I asked for her card and Virginia explained that it's her card she doesn't have to give it to me. Red flag. So I asked the name on the card and she said Gabriella. I immediately called and spoke to the manager (Nida Lopez) who has always shown EXCELLENT customer service and she explained to me that James and Jeff were the owners. This just leaves me to believe that who ever this woman is felt a sense of entitlement because of a direct relation with the owners. It's one things to have to deal with mediocre equipment and sub par cleanliness because of what I pay, but there are certain things that "well I only pay $20" is just NOT susceptible answer. I will not be disrespect, talked to in a rude ghetto manner or have my person property mistreated. They are lucky I did not and will not call the police. My suggestion, value your $20 and sign up at another facility where dogs aren't running around an already unclean faculty and staff act like actually adults and not overpriviledged girlfriends,wives,cousins or hang...

First off, I signed up for the Black Card membership online. Upon signing up there was nothing that stated that I had to pay 58$ to cancel my membership if I was a Black Card member. I know this because when I was trying to cancel my membership and the gentleman told me I had to pay, I had him go online and "sign up" and read all the fine print and he found nothing as well. He then called his manager and she had him print out my membership agreement, which holds all my information and then at the bottom says something about the 58$ fee. I myself never saw that and I'm guessing that this was told to me after I purchased my membership. planet Fitness has a habit of telling you some of the information. This is actually the second time I've has to deal with something like this. I signed up for the 99$ membership in MD and while she tells me all the perks, she neglects to tell me I cannot transfer this membership if i were to relocate. My gym was located in Yonkers, NY. The facilities equipment is nothing like that of other planet fitnesses. Planet Fitness also neglects to inform you that as a black card holder you are sonly allowed to go to a visiting gym 10 times in a month. Plain and Simple, for 20$ a month with poor customer service, lack of membership knowledge, no real classes, no pool, a limited amount of visits, no gym, no smoothies, pizza to help you put back on the calories you just burned; this is exactly why Im taking my membership to LA Fitness. At least for 40$ a month I have a pool, gym, basketball, volleyball, great equipment, a large variety of equipment, zumba, boot camp conditioning, cycling, great customer service and smoothies with protein instead of pizza and tootsie rolls.

My recommendation only use PLANET FITNESS 10$ MEMBERSHIP until you can afford ballys...

I have been going to planet fitness for many years in this place by far is the biggest disappointment of them all. They don’t have enough machines for everybody, and it is always packed with low lives. They are missing weights, and they never seem to replace them. And of all of the gyms that I’ve ever been to -this place has no rules. People literally hijack parts of the gym and don’t allow other people to use certain areas. They just don’t have enough equipment to properly handle their demand. Not enough weights, not enough machines, not even enough space. I’m sure the owners are thrilled because they are making money but it is just the worst place to work out. Good luck trying to get a treadmill. Even at off hours, it is always sold out. The worst place to work out. I would go to New Rochelle. And I never have a problem there . But the staff in Yonkers just allows people to sit on machines for two hours on their cell phone, will other people are trying to work out, and they have no rules..

And I am not even trying to hate. I want this gym to be good. I live down the street. For right now it just makes more sense for me to go to New Rochelle because Yonkers is just too small. It seems as though after Christmas, they sold a bunch of memberships, and now you just can’t work out there. There’s just not enough room. There’s just not enough equipment and the equipment that they do have is all breaking down. It’s like nobody cares over here. I don’t know what else I could say, but good luck. I hope they fix these things. I will not be coming back...
