TLDR: The staff is incompetent, the owner is nowhere to be found. Take the time to drive to anywhere else and actually get the service done you need.
It is my understanding that this store has come under new ownership in the last 4 to 6 months. The new owner is a joke.
My wife and I went to this location to have 4 pages printed from a document and then have 3 of them notarized and mailed. Upon arriving at the store, we were told the owner was not there, and they were the only one with the random key generator needed to access the store Email system to print items. Also, the notary was not on site. We arrived just after noon on a Wednesday. And so we waited.
In the time we waited, the 2 workers in the store were only able to help 1 other customer. One worker told us it was his 1st day. Him, I do not blame for any of this. What control does a 1st day employee have over anything? However, the 2nd man that was there. He seemed to be just as confused, if not more so, than the man who was on his 1st day. The more experienced employee was slow on the computer, it took him over 15 minuets just to help 1 customer ship a single package. In the hour my wife and I waited, that was 1 of 2 customers that actually were able to finish their business. Between an unknowing 1st day worker, and a confused obviously in over his head older employee, a no show manager, and no notary that ever arrived, we watched as 6 other customers either had to leave detailed notes with contact information for whenever someone competent showed up, or just walk away entirely and have 0 help.
After almost 50 minuets and still no contact from the store manager, the notary which was still not on the property, the employee that was not on their first day stated they were leaving to go and attempt to wake up/get in touch with the owner. After he left, the only employee left was the one who's 1st day working it was. There were, besides myself and my wife, still 3 more customers in the store.
At this point, one customer that only needed a strip of tape to close a box and have it mailed at least got the tape they needed, and left a package with a label on it already to be mailed. Lord help him, I hope that package was actually mailed. Another customer that had 2 small items as a return for Amazon. They were already ready to be sent, and she had a bar code to scan for the return. And the 1st day employee had no idea how to handle this. She customer got frustrated, and decided waiting was not worth it and just left.
At this point, after waiting for another 15 minuets, my wife and I decided that waiting for over an hour to be provided services that are claimed on the phone system to be on site all day until 5 or 6pm (I do not remember which specific time the automated system says the notary is there on site), we left this location. Instead, we drove to Pratville and the UPS store there, where a most helpful young man handled everything we needed done in less...
Read moreCOVID ALERT! Be cautious if you have visited this location recently; The rude lady that normally runs the place contracted COVID-19. And I not once saw them wearing gloves or a mask when I needed to drop off a package.
The service received here is HORRIBLE! The lady is extremely rude, and doesn't even follow UPS policies/promotions.
I had an Amazon return setup for the "No Box, No Label" option. I normally have the original box, but this time they sent several items in a large box which was to big to keep around the home. Anyways, I took my item to the location and showed the "Scan Code" to the lady, and attempted to hand her the item. She refused to take it. She demanded that I purchase a $10 box, as well as purchase a roll of tape to close the box, and to pay to print the label. Even though sitting less then a foot away from her was a laminated paper that said "Free Amazon Returns - No Box or Label" and it provided steps (including providing the code to be scanned) on how the return process worked. I pointed it out to her, and she insisted that the paper was incorrect, and its up to the individual UPS location. But this is a deal/service between UPS & Amazon, it doesn't say "some locations may not participate".. this isn't a deal at McDonalds for some Chicken nuggets..
So I refused to accept her scam of trying to charge me $10 for a box, and left the store to immediately call Amazon. They apologized (as they do for anything really) then switched my return to a Free UPS Pick-up and gave me a few dollars in credits to go to Walmart to buy a box. The next day, the UPS guy showed up with a label and my package was off to the landfill of Amazon Returns. I'll certainly be choosing this option from now on, and if I need to mail a personal package then I'll use FedEx
UPS Corporate really needs to look into this location. As they are making UPS look bad by trying to scam money out of folks, and being very rude and argumentative with customers.
Edit: I contacted UPS. Their customer service said the lady was wrong. If the location is a "UPS Store" it is suppose to accept the Amazon returns, including the "No Box, No Label" option. That the only place that might not, are the "package stores" like the ones that sell liquor and...
Read moreIs give a 0 star if i could . I was otw to my shift at the hospital and had to stop really quick to return some items amazon sent by mistake which wasnt my item. Now i have been to the store plenty of times no issue i always pick the option on amazon to drop of $0.. NO BOX OR LABEL REQUIRED. So i get there and the elderly lady scans everything and then she says i need to pay a dollar and i said , it does not say this in the policy and she says it says it in the fine print. Well it does not !! My cousin tried to go in earlier to return my items for me and she tried to charge her 3.99 for the same stuff i was returning saying she needed a box. Idk if she needed money for cigarettes or what bc every time i go i smell pure smoke . Clearly not healthy at all with children and pregnant woman or immunocompromised go into the store!
