Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen — Restaurant in Clanton

TL:DR - Don't go

Tried to stop for lunch on our drive home from Florida. Went to use the bathroom before we got in line. The women’s restroom was for some reason covered in water. I’m talking walls, floors, everything, just dripping. Boyfriend said the men’s urinal looked like it was sawed out of the wall. Exposed pipes that ig he was supposed to pee in? Should have left then, but we were already invested.

Waited 15 mins to order. Got told after we ordered AND PAID that none of our meal was already prepped. At 1pm on a Saturday. They said it would be 10 mins so we waited. 20 minutes later, 2 of the employees started shouting at each other. The manager watched, the 9 people in the lobby watched, the random unattended child who had been watching his IPad the whole time watched. The shouting eventually escalated, resulting in one employee getting thrown out. The employee that was in the middle of bagging our food.

My boyfriend and I looked at each other. Should we just grab the food? It was bagged behind the counter but we didn’t want to start a looting frenzy in this random Popeyes. We waited 5 mins for the 5 employees that it took to throw out this worker that had just crashed out. Please just hand us the bag.

10 more minutes later, we were handed 2 suspiciously light bags. Whatever, we need to get back on the road (this was all taking place during a tornado watch btw). Checked our food in the car. Half our THREE PIECE ORDER was somehow missing. All fries, no chicken. Oh my god, we have to go back inside.

We return to the crowd of people who look disappointed to see what they thought was a successful customer return. Hope is lost, moral is low. Please sir, just hand me the box that has been sitting behind the counter for 15 mins now. 5 mins go by. I'm over it at this point. "Sir, hand me that box". In what felt like an insulting show of false attention to detail, the manager takes the extra time to put the box in an PLASTIC BAG and hands it to me.

Not sure what happened to the rest of the customers, or the employee that got thrown out, or the random kid. But we aren't going to be returning. Food was alright, they...

This review is a long time coming. I don’t like giving bad reviews unless you really earn it. First let me say I love Popeyes and have eaten it in Germany, Korean, and several other states and at many locations here in Alabama. This location is by far one of the worst examples I have ever been to. I have given them times to self correct but it seams this is not going to happen anytime soon. I have dined here ever since this location opened. All except one experience was bad. In total I have tried this location 8 times over the last few months in hopes the quality of the food and service would improve. Their efforts have fluctuated but a graft would show a heavy and distinct decline. My order is almost always wrong to some degree. It’s usually the wrong spice level, or the quantity of something will be off or missing. There is never enough inventory ready to serve like other locations. The staff bicker loudly amongst themselves and make fun of their customers in the drive-through. The manager saw I heard this and I saw the dissatisfaction and concern on her face but she did not make a correction. This is not uncommon with any visit to this location sadly. It seems they have hired a poorly qualified, unmannered, uneducated staff, and they are running this location in the ground. They are rarely busy and I think and there is no reason for this level of bad service. This saddens me as this is the closest Popeyes I can reach, and this cuisine has been a big part of my life for more than 25 years. If there is a bar rescue type thing that can be done, this is a candidate on life support, and I hate to see it go. I will not be back for some time. Hopefully it will be...

WOULD have put 0 but the restaurant was not dirty We! We went in after church, after 1. There was one lady taking orders for 4 different people in line inside & there was a lady working the drive through & 2 cooks! The lady taking our orders was SOOO RUDE! She was listening to her phone or something she had in her ear. EVERYONE OF US IN LINE REPEATED OUR ORDER TO HER "3" TIMES!! She never looked up just kept her head down, it was definitely clear she did not want to be at work!! One man even ask if she listening? I HAVE BEEN TO THIS POPEYE SEVERAL TIMES & NEVER EXPERIENCED ANYTHING LIKE THIS, But I have always gone though drive through. We really like Popeyes but probably will never go to this location again. Several of us ordered sweet tea & it was behind the counter, oh you would have thought we ask for her kidney!! Our chicken had GREASE "RUNNING OUT" NOT DROPPING ACTUALLY RAN OUT LIKE!! NASTY, Others were complaining of the theirs having grease running out. We tried to soak it up with napkin but it was SOOO MUCH GREASE! We did not get our biscuits and had to ask, we stood "8" minutes trying to get our biscuits, forks & ketchup!! HORRIBLE SERVICE & the lady doing drive through gave it to us!! I told everyone to complain because that's the only way to let management know! AFTER WE GOT OUR ORDERS EVERY ONE EXCEPT A LADY THAT HAD BEEN COOKING LEFT FOR OUT BACK OR BREAKROOM OR ?? Just disappeared!! REALLY NOT PROFESSIONAL!!THE OTHER PEOPLE THAT WAS THERE SAID THEY WANT BE BACK EITHER...HATE TO SEE POPEYES HAVE AN ISSUE because this is the only one even close BUT will get my chicken at Jack's or Walmart.
