Late one evening we noticed our house was getting warmer and discovered our A/C seemingly just went dead. My husband tried to change the batteries of the thermostat, turned the of, then on the electrical box and checked the AC outside and could not find anything wrong. So, I researched a few HVAC services. I called a couple but the earliest they could come the following week. I saw that Berkley, a local business was located near us and gave them a call. Right off the bat, Tammy on the other Line was so nice when I explained the issue and she said the same thing that the next available appointment was Tuesday however, if we wanted an emergency visit it would cost us $50.00 more on top of the regular charge and she could send someone after 4PM. Someone named Chris came at around 2pm to fix it for us. Chris asked to see the air filter and on the way down to the basement, right away he noticed that the emergency switch for the gas shut off was in the off position, which ended up being the issue. He took the extra time to wait to make sure that the switch was the actual issue and waited to make sure the A/C was up and running again. We were ready to pay the full price since I agreed to have them come as an emergency call. However, Chris said he would not charge us for it. We are so impressed by this business, not only they are a class act but very reasonable business. They could have easily charged us $150.00 but they did not. He got the quote for three different options and pricing to us by that afternoon. The price for the system we chose was fair and in line with other quotes we got. The way it was presented, though, was a lot more straightforward than the others. It seemed we would be getting more value for the amount we were going to spend. The visit to the office, to pay the deposit, was friendly and courteous. Even their dogs are friendly! The work was scheduled within the next ten days. Kyle and Joey arrived to install the HVAC system on time, presented themselves very professionally and started working. They worked quietly and quickly, finishing the job within six hours! Read moreOn 7/26/21 I called Barkley Heating and Air after hours about an ongoing issue with my AC Unit. I browsed online and saw a few other companies that serviced the area, called one and received a less than pleasing response as to when they would be able to assist. I called Barkley Heating and Air, left a message and to my surprise received a call back within less than 30mins. The gentleman called, asked what the issue was and said that he would be out tonight. I was shocked when about 15min past and I hear a knock on the door alerting me that he was outside and taking a look at the unit. After some brief conversation he tells me that he is the owners son (Please forgive for forgetting his name but he was Awesome!)... He located the problem, solved it and did some extra maintenance all within an hour. My home went from 80 plus degrees to 72 with no time at all. I was very pleased with the service, punctuality and the pricing and would recommend Barkley Heating and Air to anyone who happened to be in need....
