BEWARE! DO NOT GET THE LCD REPLACED ON YOUR ANDROID PHONE HERE! I TOOK MY SAMSUNG NOTE 5 in for a replacement because the screen was damaged and went black. I spent $200 and 3 months later my phone went black, no damage to my phone as I had a case and a glass screen protector, but they insisted it was my fault even though they could not show any damage or abuse, this was just my backup phone plus it took good pics and video so it was worth fixing.
I paid the $200 and within one week it was flashing when powered up, I didn't think much about as I have a busy schedule and it takes me 4 hours of my time to drive there and drop it off and drive back and pick it up.
By the 3rd week it had a tiny white line on the far left of the phone then went green and the 4th week it went black again. So I take it back and once again no damage to my phone as it just sits at home in a case and a glass protector, they said it had no damage but was past 30 days so they could not do anything. They said I would have to pay another $200 and obviously I would have to be a complete fool do that again, so I asked to speak to the manager but of course the manager can only be reached by email and is never in the store and they never know when the manager will be there so I guess the store is just run by zero management. This is what explains the horrible customer service as they obviously are not looking for repeat business.
I've never been to a business where you couldn't speak to a manager other than an email which is a complete joke of a way to run a business.
I had this phone for 4 years with no issues until a tool hit the corner that wasn't protected and cracked the glass. That's when it was my fault so I brought it to Cell City.
Overall the reviews are okay except when it comes to Android LCD repairs/replacement you will see many complaints of the phone's going black which means they are using some cheap generic remanufactured or used parts.
So if you don't mind spending $200 every month to every few months to keep fixing your phone this is the perfect place, but if you don't have money to burn I would suggest buying a new phone as it would have been much cheaper plus a one year factory warranty and Quality Parts.
So keep in mind when you have a problem you will not be able to speak to a manager they will just give you an email and you will not get a response and they have no idea when the manager will show up and said the manager is rarely there anyways which I found out since every time I was in the area I stopped by to see if the manager was in and of course the manager is not in because the store is not run by anybody, giving me the managers email is basically telling me we have no plans on helping you so F- OFF in a nice way.
I have no clue how this place stays in business, which they would be out of business if they relied on LCD replacement for Android because they cannot get that one right and like I said take the time to read the reviews and you will see that is the most common complaint which is a big deal since it's the most expensive repair they have.
Needless to say I'm a very unsatisfied customer and literally sick to my stomach to how rude they can be straight to your face, I got robbed twice and they didn't even have to use a gun, pretty sleazy operation. I've had more honest experiences with NYC street hustlers....
Read moreStay away! My sons ipad charge port had gone bad. You had to get the charger just right for it to charge. My brother in law recommended this place as it was cheaper than apple and faster to get a repair done. I paid a $45 deposit so they could order the charge port and fix it for around $90. So the part comes in and I drop off the ipad on a Sunday evening. On Tuesday I was told that they replaced the charge port and it didn't work. No biggie I will take it to apple to get fixed right? So I show up and get the ipad back and Maria hands it back and starts to walk away. I ask for my money back as the device was not repaired. Then it turns into a $16 refund as they want to charge me for a "diagnostic" on the device. So I ask why I would be charged a diagnostic fee, I am being charged $30 for you to tell me you can't fix my device? Well seems like there was nothing she could do about it. So I asked her what type of diagnostic was ran on the device. She isn't a tech and popped in the back real quick to ask. Apparently cell city has a diagnostic program that will report a bad "motherboard" as it related to the devices charging capability. I was told they ran a diagnostic test on the motherboard and it came back bad. That was the real kicker to me. I have been in the wireless industry for 15 years and several of my stores do service and repair, this device was wifi only otherwise I would have explored other options for repairing it. NONE of the diagnostic tools we use have any reporting capability on the motherboard. As a matter of fact neither does the diagnostic capabilities @ apple. One of my former employees is a tech @ apple and there is no such thing as a motherboard diagnostic. At the end of the day I tell customers as well that they have a motherboard issue sometimes and I can't fix the problem. The difference is I don't lie to them and tell them I ran a diagnostic on the motherboard and make stuff up. If I can't fix a customers phone that's it we look into other options, I surely don't charge them a fee for not being able to fix their device. Bad business plan cell city, charge people for a "diagnostic" fee when you can't fix their device. Sounds like you just wanted to...
Read moreI was very frustated and told them I was going to be at the store first thing next day since my cell phone was working fine including the LCD and they were the ones who broke the audio and the LCD. On April 14th, I arrived at the store and another representative already knew my situation. he refused to fix my phone and he refused to refund me the money. he also blamed me for my phone not being working. I asked to speak with a supervisor and he said, he wasn't there at the moment and advised me to leave the store if not, he was going to call the police. I never cursed on them! all I wanted was my money back and my working cell phone. after a few minutes arguing with the representative, he told me to leave my cell phone for another check up and I agreed. next day morning on April 18,2018, I went back to pick up my cell phone and the same Representative from the day before told me that the LCD was broken and if I wanted my phone to be fix it will be another $205 not including the $99 plus tax that I already paid for my broken screen. I refused to pay them again since my cell phone was working fine before they tried to replace the audio which they broke when changing the broken screen. the same representative also gave me the option to keep my phone by refunding me the $99 plus tax that I paid them. I will be attaching the messages I had with the person who is in charge of the business Facebook page. This company is a total scam. all they do is offer a service that they do not how to perform and they end up breaking your phone without any responsibility. they broke my entire phone and I ended up losing $99 plus tax and my cell phone that...
