Writing this in case anyone else finds themselves in the same situation. Jersey Jim Towers purchased a vintage CD player from me off eBay. By their own admission they turned around a sold it in their store which is no problem. This is where things get sketchy. Apparently about 45 days later their customer had a issue and brought the unit back. Being that this is a repair place you would think they could have fixed it and returned it to the customer or fixed it and put out out for sale? Nope. Supposedly they refunded it at the store and wanted to return it to me through eBay. Two problems. 1 they were over the 30 day return window and 2 you can't sell to another party have it out of your possession and then expect to return it. Still I offered some partial return options that had us both losing a little but left neither party out everything. JJ Towers declined my offer and went on with the return and eventually eBay rightfully denied the return. Next JJ Towers went to paypay and filed a return request which was again denied for the same reasons. Finally they went to their credit card company and filed a charge back which I knew would be in their favor. No one beats that. I contacted JJ towers and let them know they would likely get their money back and that once that happens to let me know and I would like my unit shipped back to me at my expense. Guess what? Never heard back from JJ Towers even though they were refunded. Got the money back and kept the unit. It's been a year they have had ample time to get back to me. Biggest take away is if your not happy with something JJ Towers sells you or a service they provide feel free to to a credit card charge back and keep the item as well. They would do it to you! Lastly if anyone else finds themselves in a similar situation on any selling platforms feel free to use this review as evidence of there questionable...
Read moreI had used Jersey Jim Towers several years ago to repair a Yamaha PA system and we very satisfied. Just recently though, I took the same PA system back to them, paid them for the diagnostic work to learn one of channels amplifier had blown. I authorized them to replace the blown amplifier and paid them over $ 300 to repair the unit. I picked up the repaired unit and I didn't make it through the first song when the amplifier started "clipping" and shut down. I then made my third trip to them and left them the control unit again. They called several days later and said there must be an impedance problem with my speakers so I made a fourth trip hauling both my PA speakers so we could eliminate an impedance problem or a short as the problem. Next they told me it was the other channel amplifier that had blown and they weren't able to get parts to fix it so they gave me back my PA system, with one of the two power amplifier cards removed and laying out "so they could show me". Show me what? There was no sign this card had overheated. I was an electronic engineering technician in the USAF and for a defense contractor after I left the military so I know a little bit about this stuff. So what I ended up with was a PA system in pieces, totally worthless, and a bill for over $ 300 and many hours invested trusting they could and would fix it. I politely expressed my dissatisfaction and asked that they refund my money. They refused. I have owned a well-known service business in the Tampa Bay area for years and would never treat my customers this way. Jersey Jim Towers used to have a great reputation but I guess time and the advancement of technology has caught up with them. So sad they refused to do the...
Read moreIf I could give jersey Jim towers NEGATIVE stars I would… My 91 year old father recently purchased a new maytag refrigerator from jersey Jim towers which they delivered and installed the ice maker. 7 months after it was installed, my family was visiting and were awoken early am to an electrical fire. Thankfully it happened while we were there and no one was hurt. After maytag came out they determined the water line to the ice maker was not properly installed, causing water to leak for 7 months on the electrical outlet, wall, under the floor. This was not a visible leak as it was behind the refrigerator on the wall and under the flooring. This caused a great deal of water and mold damage to the home, along with health issues from the mold for my father. This refrigerator was under warranty. Maytag would not replace because it happened due to faulty installation by jersey Jim towers. This is all documented. After NUMEROUS contact attempts to jersey jim towers ( and better business bureau) to replace the refrigerator, they refuse ANY responsibility to this. We have tried to rectify this amicably but our next recourse would be a lawyer. I would steer clear of this place!!! EDIT… Jersey Jim towers seems to have their information wrong. Maytag offered to put a new compressor in the refrigerator at a cost of $600, VOID OF WARRANTY BECAUSE OF FAULTY INSTALL. Not sure who lives there and when is relevant to any of this. The leak, the improper install was NOT visible until the electrical fire. Yes, my father’s insurance is working to help recover some of the $25,000+ in water/mold remediation and rebuild of his home. NOT covered is a refrigerator under warranty by a faulty install. Again, shop your appliances...
