UNBELIEVABLE!!! This is an absolute must try! I have had crepes in the past and I swore I would not touch them again. My wife ordered them and I tried what was then unknown to me. I had never had a crepe before! The ones here at Jerome's will melt in your mouth. I had the Ciabatta Swiss cheese and ham, and it was en-robed with hollandaise and the hollandaise is of course homemade and room temp, the only true way to serve hollandaise! I look forward to trying everything on the menu. Oh, and the prices are almost all (90%) under $10 per entree. The value of this restaurant in relation to quality makes this restaurant a rare jewel where you find yourself wondering just how the chef can coax the beautiful flavors from food that is entirely reasonable in cost while maintaining a quality that I would have gladly paid a higher price, but don't tell Jerome! The chef is from France (I assume based on his accent only, I did not ask) and his skill is of the type I would expect in a high end restaurant with entree prices in the eye watering range with no question as to the value at that price. If you leave town without trying Jerome's you will not know what you have missed until you try it the next time you are in town and then you will be upset at yourself for taking so long. Don't upset yourself, it is much better to indulge and enjoy then to work yourself up for not trying it sooner, just get over there. What are you waiting for? See ya there!
I completely forgot. They have some gorgeous bakery items in the glass...
Read moreJust ate there for the first time to buy Mom a late breakfast and it was all delicious. I had the Salmon with Brie omelette and a cafe macchiato. Both were all I could ask for. Mom had some scrambled eggs and a side (see pic) The omelet had a nice buttery flavor like when I make mine at home with ghee. I'm not much for carbs these days so it was great to see I could have a salad with my eggs, and was very happy taste the salad. This was a real (, mixed greens salad (not one of those tiny, pale iceburg afterthoughts) with a light balsamic dressing that was perfectly balanced according to my taste buds. It was breakfast so I had the obligatory side of bacon, which was lightly crisped, just the way I like it. Let's talk coffee. I'm half Swedish thanks to Mom so our DNA asks for a nice dark, European coffee. Jerome's Columbian espresso was deliciously potent and one shot was all I needed. The cream of the macchiato smoothed it out wonderfully and I was a happy man! So, all in all, it was the perfect breakfast. Be advised: Flying with Jerome seats about 50 people and it's not uncommon for them to get very busy, serving as many as 250 on their busiest weekend days. I recommend getting there before 10am on the weekend and before 11 on weekdays, from what I learned talking to Jerome for a few moments. In any case, we'll definitely be back and I plan to bring friends soon...
Read moreHaving been to France many times, this place is about as French as American French fries... and even those aren't French! They're not twice-fried, they're coated in oil, and usually burnt. I've been there six times and each of them garnered the same disappointment with several different menu items. When I asked that my lattÊ be made with half and half, I was informed, "We don't have that... only those," pointing to the little open-yourself creamers in a bowl on the table. Not once did anyone ask if my food was acceptable or wondered why my plate was full when I asked for the check. I'm not sure what happened to this place, but whatever idea the owner had in mind in the beginning has gone completely 180. It's like an Italian restaurant serving Spaghettios. The only French things in the place are a few pictures of the Eiffel Tower and some of the names of dishes or desserts. The rest are a few cheap prints and one famous photo of the red bike on the bridge in front of the channel in Amsterdam. I can't understand why it's always packed. Florida isn't known for their food, though... so if Flying With Jerome does it for them, who am I to ruin it? However, I'll not be back for yet another chance. Not even for the coffee. What French restaurant doesn't have...
