My new favorite restaurant! The food is absolutely amazing! You can tell just how much the chef puts into each dish. We previously ordered dinner to go, understanding that you can never get the best version of a meal after it takes the time to travel, and we were amazed at how good it was even after we took the time to drive it home. It was so good, we knew we had to experience it as intended; served at a table in the restaurant. WOW! First of all, can we just talk about how amazing the service was? The server had 9 tables that sat relatively close to the same time and, yet, we didn't have to ask him for a single thing. He still, somehow, managed to keep our glasses filled and checked on us regularly.
The server and chef gave such personalized service! They worked well as a team also, which I thought spoke volumes. The chef came out and spoke with us more than just once. The server, Andrew, was so friendly and did a great job communicating with us about the menu, timing of the food, and just anything else that could make use wonder. He was a step ahead of any of our questions. They went out of their way to make sure we got a dinner that we wanted.
The ambiance of this restaurant is definitely noteworthy. There is nice background music that does not drown out your conversation. It is just loud enough to keep you from hearing everyone's conversation around you. The lighting was also very pleasant. Bright enough to see what you are eating and low enough to create a romantic and intimate atmosphere. A perfect place to spend some time talking with someone important to you. You can hear them without sharing your conversation with everyone around you while enjoying amazing food and service that makes you feel like a valued regular on even your...
Read moreWe felt the food was ok. The best of our 2 dishes was the broccoli and yet it was slightly too oily for us. The lasagna was overcooked and meat sauce was nonexistent. Our salad was iceberg lettuce which was fresh. The balsamic vinaigrette was too plentiful for the salad. Bread and butter was good, nothing special. The chicken pizziola was mediocre. The red sauce tasted almost as if it was burnt, there was one piece of green pepper and a total two mushrooms, maybe. The chicken was OK again nothing special. The wines were reasonably priced and all Italian wines which is a plus. The service was good and fast. As for the atmosphere, it was definitely low budget. The booth I sat in had uneven seating. The use of fake grass to hide flaws was apparent, and the use of gold paint was overdone. having the staging area for the dishes, right behind, a booth was unappetizing. There should be some kind of curtain to Keep the off stage appearance especially the vacuums which were sitting up by the front door and in a window. Please take this as...
Read moreDelicious dinner and excellent service from our server Shelby! It was very special to meet the owner, Chef Masse! I had the mussels with linguine and my hubby had the lasagna. They do not disappoint with the portion sizes. I highly dislike feeling hungry after leaving a restaurant. We took our leftovers to go. Shelby even packaged them up for us, which is a luxury nowadays. We had a bottle of Italian wine and shared the house made tiramisu for dessert. It was also a healthy portion with a lot of espresso (I know because I have made it myself in the past) so we even took half of that to go home as well! It was really nice to have a romantic and calm ambiance compared to some of the sports bars in the area (We used to go to Fat Cat, Whiskey Wings, Applebees, Chiles, etc) We will definitely be back to Cafe Masse. We have been wanting to visit for quite a while and read great reviews from our neighborhood Next Door app. I have Mondays off work and they are closed on Mondays. Would like to make this a...
