Union House Bar & Restaurant — Restaurant in Parma

We went there a few weeks ago to see a Lynyrd Skynyrd cover band. We learned about it on Facebook events page. We googled their website before going. I can tell you that they are nothing like what they advertised! The place looked seedy and very rundown. The clientele looked really sketchy. We decided to stay and give it a try. The food was the absolute worst meal I have ever eaten. The chicken sandwich was so dry that it was barely edible. My boyfriend’s cheesesteak sandwich wasn’t any better. The band started playing and we thought the evening was going to get better. We were wrong! We were enjoying the music when just a few songs in a huge fight broke out on the dance floor. Thankfully we weren’t sitting in front by the stage. They were brawling in front of the stage. After a few minutes they all moved outside to the parking lot where they continued to fight until the police arrived. We were afraid to move. We wanted to leave but didn’t want to be caught up in the chaos. As soon as it started quieting down we got out of there and we will never go back! I have a unique story about this, and I can't comment on whether this is a normal situation here or not. While we were getting our vehicle window repaired at the auto glass place on the corner nearby, we decided to try to find some lunch and were recommended to Union House. As we walked around to the front door, we noticed a few trucks with various pro 'white power' decals on the sides. Thinking nothing of it, we entered and asked the bartender for a menu (we were told the normal waitress was gone and this lady just sort of scoffed at us). As we're looking at the menu, we notice the entire room is staring as us; All the people drinking and a table of men eating. We decide the vibe of the place is strange and leave.

As we're walking to the main street, we notice there's confederate flags on a lot of vehicles and there's a trailer park across the street. I'm confident we walked into a bunch of neo-nazis drinking at the bar on lunch hour. The place also had a very dirty feeling to it, to what I'd describe as a "backwoods pool-hall + bar & grill" feel.

I am not sure what is going on here. The food here is good. The fish fry every Wednesday & Friday are good all year long. And the prices are good.

But every time we come in, the place is near empty, and yet the service is painfully slow. I am not sure if it's a staffing issue or what.

So that is the part I don't understand. We come in when we are not in any type of time constraint. If you are in a hurry, this may not be a good option for you.

UPDATE 2/28/25: We were pleasantly surprised. The place was more crowded than in many previous visits. We came here today to give this place one last try. We got to the table and were waited on immediately. After we received our drinks, the server took our order.

The food was a little slow coming out but when we got our food, it was really hot. The service was great, a the food was good. So I am going to keep this place on my list...
