Lidl invested 5 million dollars to bring it's supermarket to an Opportunity Zone. They proudly display this at checkout. I like Lidl because it has such a variety of foods. There is home baked bread and pastries upon entering the store. There are fruits and vegetables in 1st and second aisles. The frozen fish section is packed. There are fresh meat and poultry specials, but also alternatives packaged by Lidl. The back wall is cheese and deli, dairy eggs and milk. Yes, they have Almond Milk! In fact as you go to middle aisles, you find Greek foods which my family loves. I have bought grape leaves and pastry stuffed with spinach. Lots of horderves are available for parties. They even carry the healthy pastas made from lentils (etc). But there's more. They carry towels, clothes and socks! Gifts! Christmas decorations! Little Baby Christmas trees for gifts. The staff at this market are very professional and polite, and the store is clean with plenty of parking. You should...
ย ย ย Read moreLove having a Lidl in this part of DelCo. The bakery is cool. The store layout is consistent, so you don't have to hunt for items you bought last week. I like their fruit and organic vegetables, though you have to eat them quickly. Any store brand bread needs to be refrigerated , it doesn't have the same preservatives as other US made breads.
Their ice cream is not overly sweet but is very good. Cheap yogurt in lots of interesting flavors like Key Lime. House brand frozen chicken is finally back in stock consistently, in lots of variations (strips, patties, popcorn, fries, nuggets).
Their back central aisles contain seasonal items like workout gear, garden tools and other neat things. Found some decent garden pots here.
In the front they have plants, mulch and other seasonal stuff that rotates.
They do normally only have one register open at a time so lines can form quickly. Another employee will usually open a second checkout to ease the...
ย ย ย Read moreThey're finally open! The outside is bright, welcoming, and matches the aesthetic of the complex (but the bright yellow awning makes it stand out from the rest). Since today was the grand opening there were plenty of staff members outside welcoming the the steady income or shoppers and inform you of their offerings in person and on the app. The store was well stocked from the front door to the checkout line. The bakery items were all on sale from fresh breads to donuts and other treats (they smelled super delicious). Some other items that immediately grabbed my attention were their seafood options, such as Argentine shrimp, flounder filets, and whole calamari. They also had a wide selection of organic products at reasonable prices (produce, snacks, meats, etc.). All in all, excited to have a new Lidl's in the area for a fresh shopping experience. P.S.: Download the app for...
