Well the clinic startes out pretty good ... But the transition after covid not so much. There was a huge turn over in staff. The new staff ( don't think there is one PhD mainly PAs') that throw road block and test after test at you if you don't want to test or do labs every 6 months , healthy or not , they will withold your medication. Not allowing refills . Guys if your seeking any kind of ED treatment forget it . You will have to jump through so many hoops, beg , lie and eventually be disappointed if you get a prescription it will be for a few days not a full months supply and if you were previously on a certain dosage they will not only cut the thirty day supply downto 14 but they cut the dose size in half too so essentially only allowing %25 of previous allocations . Now let's talk about the clinic doing simple non life threatening emergency care like a gash on your ankle . I called ahead as it was near 6 pm . They are open till 7 and told me yes there was a provider that could sew me up. I needed 10-15 stitches on a clean cut from some sharp aluminum. I arrived at clinic went to receptionist desk and they greeted me and were letting medical staff know I had arrived ( bleeding pretty good standing at the desk) the PA came from the back and never even looked at the wound , didn't offer to even bring me back to a room . But instead the PA stated that the radiologist was gone for the day and I would have to go to the ER for care. I explained I didn't have insurance , the cut was clean there was no ligament or bome damage , no dirt or debris and all I needed was some stitches so it would heal up. (ER visit plus care would have exceeded $3500) I asked the PA to just close it up , she didn't answer but walked back to the back without another word. .I received no stitches and the wound took 5 months to heal and I now have a huge Scare . Nurse's information regarding medications: symptoms headache, diagnosis COVID, prescribed paxliovid, pharmacy out of stock till two days later , I call clinic. Nurse returns call I ask for something stronger for my headache ( day 5 blinding headache ) she tells me the paxliovid would take care of my headache and that a shipment has just delivered early. I told her I don't. Believe the paxliovid is for headaches and told her I was going to check her information as soon as we ended the call. She assured me that the medicine would relieve my headache. Well guess what the very first side effect was ??? HEADACHE . . I was never offered so much as a Tylenol three and had complained for 4 days with no option acetaminophen, ibuprofen nor naproxen, asprin or massage could touch the headache yet every call I made that was the solution offered along with misinformation, aka lie from a nurse just to shut me up. If you are hurt and in pain don't expect any pain medication beyond the OTC, total health care is not available at CHCSEK either. They will not prescribe many treatments( even , after the PA tells you the remedy) because of policy written by attorneys and accountants . Never mind what the medical needs are . Policy supercedes any medical needs you may have that falls into voids throughout the medical care bubble. Corporate decides is high risk or potential malpractice areas. The receptionist, while the lobby was full of waiting patients , intentionally raised her voice regarding an outstanding balance on this young woman's account . The whole room full of people waiting turned to see what the loud voices receptionist was doing the poor girl lowered her head and walked out of the office in shame . I asked for an administrator as I was next to check in . There wasn't one in at the time . So I got the number of one up the ladder . No satisfaction...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSo, I've tried this place around three to five times in the last five years - give or take. My experience with them has been the same each time, they treat you like you're dumb. Like you don't understand the most basic terminology they can give you, and it's rude. That's the least of my worries with this review though, so I will just give you guys insight on how each of my visits went.
TL;DR - just go to indy. it might be a drive, but it'll save your health, money, and sanity.
First time I went to them was back in 2018, I had a dental abscess. While yes, they did do something for me that would help me short-term (drained it, gave me antibiotics, and very strong painkillers.) but, after this they said they would call me and schedule me for a root canal. They never did.
Second time, same thing. Wouldn't even touch the abscess this time, just gave me antibiotics and painkillers again. Said the same thing about the root canal, never called me to schedule it again
Third time, I was very sick in December. I never felt like that before, and around that time is when everyone in Coffeyville was getting COVID again. So I thought maybe I should go get tested, as my work didn't accept at-home testing and needed the sheet from the office to excuse me. They straight up refused to test me. So, that weekend I went to Walmart and got an at-home test. Guess who had COVID?
Fourth time, the next week, demanded a COVID test. Got tested. Came out positive. Doctor just dropped the results in my lap and said that'll excuse me from work and left.
Generally speaking, it's nice when you're in a tight spot and need to be seen ASAP, but is it good medical care?...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI took my daughter to clinic on a Sunday. She had fever, sore throat, cough, and ears hurting. She had been sick for a week. She was coughing so much that she was throwing up. I donāt remember the name of the APRN that saw her. She told us that she had fluid in both ears and that her throat was red. I requested a strep test that was negative. So she recommended a sinus rinse and sent us home. The following day I took her to our primary doctor and she had double ear infection and she was wheezing so we were given steroids, antibiotics, and something for the cough. She is already feeling better. This is not the first time this has happened at your clinic. In May of 2024 I had brought the same daughter to the clinic for sore throat, sinus pain, ears hurting and cough. They did absolutely nothing for her. No testing at all! So two days later took her back to her primary care and she tested positive for strep, had double ear infection, and sinus infection. She was treated appropriately there. Iām a nurse and I would not have taken her if I didnāt think there was something that you could do for her. Iām very upset by this and donāt think Iāll be returning to your clinic. I personally think she received...
