Loma Theatre — Local services in Coloma

I love this place with my whole heart, been going since I was a kid and am still a proud supporter. But the main reason I write this review is a suggestion. I’ve seen other movie theaters implement a “no unaccompanied minors under 15 after 4pm” policy and truthfully, I think it’s a great idea. There were some middle schoolers torturing my kid siblings by swearing, throwing ice and popcorn, more of the like during the opening weekend showing of Minecraft. I asked them to stop, my siblings asked them to stop, theater employees asked them to stop, yet they did not. They left the theater quickly and with under-their-breath insults as the movie ended.

This isn’t the theater’s fault, hence the 5 star review. But I’ve watched other theaters benefit from not allowing so many unaccompanied minors in for late showings.

Very cute little theatre. We were visiting the area from Indianapolis so it was very different from what we’re used to. There were two employees visible. They both were responsible for taking orders, making popcorn, and making your drinks since you’re not allowed to get your own drink due to rona restrictions. The movie started promptly at 6:30 with no previews so you’ll want to get there early because there’s a line while you wait on 1/2 workers to be free long enough to make your drink. I enjoyed the small town feel of this theatre! Great inexpensive prices for the movies & snacks! However, the customer service made me feel rushed, uncomfortable, & extremely unwelcomed. Not all the employees were rude, only one (white woman with blonde hair in a bun). This worker yelled at my friend & I in line, & when we told her we didn’t hear her, she continued being rude to us saying that that is why she had to yell at us.
