Ok, so I like Bargain Mart overall. Itās a great place for a cheapskate like me. BUT⦠Be careful what you buy. We got dead batteries, boxed water with mold inside, and a pack of applesauce pouches that had mouse poop inside the cardboard box. I called about the water with mold and left a voicemail warning, but there was still tons of it on the shelf the next time I went in. Maybe I got a bad one, idk. Most of the stuff isnāt too far past its best buy date, and some of it hasnāt reached it yet. Some of it was over one or two years past. Prices are overall reasonable for expired goods, but have been creeping up little by little. Which is to be expected, but still a little āmehā feeling for the same stuff that has been sitting there for weeks or months. It aināt getting any fresher, you know? They also will send out advertising texts after 9 or 10 at night, which I find kind of unprofessional and annoying. I keep my phone on for family emergencies and am not a fan of being alerted for a ābargainā so long after business hours. It was easy enough to unsubscribe. Depending on your viewpoint, a pro or con is that they also allow pets in the storeā¦Iāve seen so many dogs in there, and as someone with a pretty severe allergy, getting past them in the narrow aisle isnāt my favorite either. Despite this generally poor review, as I first stated, overall I like bargain mart. The employees are friendly, and you can find some great stuff there if youāre lucky...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is as close as you can get these days to a traditional āmom and popā store, and the staff is beyond exceptional. Within a few visits Iāve become a regular, my kiddo and I are always greeted warmly, and you can immediately tell that every employee is dedicated to this wonderful service they provide. Theyāll walk you down every isle looking for this or that if you ask (inventory can be random so things move around). The ladies who work the long shifts have to deal with robberies (at knifepoint), plenty of rude customers (this business attracts a diverse crowd), the homeless addicts that live nearby, endless work and cleaning, and they still have it in them to be welcoming and to make sure my visit is a great one every time I come in. God bless yāall!
The products they sell are incredible value! Itās somewhere around 75% off on virtually everything. Feels like Goodwill before they began cherry picking the good stuff for online auction- yes there are gems and amazing gourmet items, the kind Iād never pay full price for elsewhere, but for a couple bucks I am treated to this amazing variety from top (even swanky) brands. My pics show a ton of sweets I got for the family- all for about $10. The Dum Dums were about $7 of that.
If youāve never heard of this place or have never been here- do yourself a favor and get there ASAP. Gotta see it to believe it. Just donāt take all the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had no idea what a gem this place is! Can't believe I've never been inside cuz I've shopped right next door so many times but I'm so glad I gave it a shot today, wow. As long as you don't mind a beat up box or slightly "ugly" candy bar or whatever there's some really really good deals in there.
I initially read that and thought "ok ill just see what they have" like expecting it to be just the basic processed foods and junk food kinda products but I was so pleasantly surprised to find WAY more gluten free snacks and other healthier and organic food items than I would've thought. I'm stoked because that's all the stuff I always wanna grab buts way too expensive anywhere else.
Like seriously it's a gold mine. *DO check every expiration date that you grab tho and make sure it's something you don't mind bein past the date. Not everything is but there's definitely quite a bit thats like a month or two past. I just ask myself if I'd eat it out of my own pantry if I found it unopened in the back. Highly recommend, you got nothing to lose...
