It ain't cheap, but he is trustworthy, comes to you, gets the job done, is communicative, and there are no hidden or surprise costs. He does house calls and will deliver back to you upon completion. He was able to come to me the same day I called after my computer bit the dust. I am a small business, and my computer is crucial to my productivity. I was in a huge bind and was massively behind after spending way too much time trying to troubleshoot it myself.
He tried to resolve the issue during our consultation to no avail (through no fault of his own), and he explained that he would need to take it with him, what he planned to do and how long it might take/how much it might cost. He gave me a time estimate of a couple of days along with a worst-case scenario time frame, and he had it back to me in a few days after communicating with me along the way. He went above and beyond and did some extra things like fix the broken rubber thing under the laptop that keeps it from sliding around. My issue ended up being a fried hard drive rather than a software issue, and he could have nickel-and-dimed me, but he did not.
If you are in a bind, strapped for time, and needing to outsource your computer problems, this is the way to go. Stop wasting time googling and troubleshooting it yourself or begging friends and family to help you fix it. The time you save by having him come to you and get it done, is well worth any money you might save if you shop around for the cheapest solution out there or spend hours and hours troubleshooting it yourself. Let a professional handle it for you....
Read morePurchased a desktop computer from Friendly Computers with the understanding that they would clone the hard drive from my existing computer and install windows 11 as the new operating system. They agreed for a price of $65.00 to deliver the new computer to my home, make all necessary hardware and internet connections, and to test the computer’s operations. They botched the cloning of the hard drive and they spent several hours at my home trying to organize the data to something similar to how the data files existed on the old computer. They then charged me for their work in attempting to restore and organize the files. Additionally they tried to bill me $130.00 for the delivery of the computer. I later discovered that the computer’s USB ports were not properly installed and requested that correct the defective ports. They then told me that they had acquired the computer from another vendor and that was the other vendor’s problem to correct and/or repair. I have since stopped payment on the computer’s purchase price charge to my credit card. They want me to disconnect the computer and either bring the computer to their store or have them repair the computer at my home, either of which they want to...
Read moreI don't enjoy giving negative reviews to small, local businesses but I found it necessary here. I called friendly computers because it was less than a mile from my home. I would have gladly brought my computer to the business but the owner insisted he'd come to me. The first day I set up an appointment he told me he'd try to be at my home between 5-7. He called around 7 and said he couldn't make it. The next day he said he'd be at my home from 4-7, which I found to be a large amount of time to wait for an appointment. About a quarter to 7 I called and he said he was 5 mins away. He showed up a short time later and tried to diagnose the issue with my laptop. After removing the RAM and hardrive he guessed it was the motherboard. So after waiting 2 days and a 10 min visit that probably diagnosed the issue but did not resolve anything I was charged over $100. I can forgive the waiting due to being a small business but there was no way the service was worth the price. Especially since nothing was...
