Landrum Hardware — Local services in Columbus

Personally, I’m from out of town. However, my father is local and shops at Landrum hardware frequently. My dad and I were looking at the Google reviews and we’re getting a kick out of how negative they were. I just had to go find out for myself if it was as bad as they say. The first thing I noticed on approaching the store is how the storefront curve appeal appeared inviting. I thought to myself, “I would shop there.” As I walked in the store, I asked the clerk standing behind the counter where the hacksaw blades were. She responded, “down aisle five on the left.” Which is exactly where they were. The clerk was very knowledgeable and to the point. I came back to the counter and was greeted with a smile. I paid for my hacksaw blades and said to the clerk, “you know your Google reviews do not reflect what I’m seeing in the store at all.” I was met with professionalism and direct knowledge of inventory. The take away for me; it’s a hardware store. Landum Hardware’s associates are solving hardware problems. It is not a boutique. They are not helping you picking out your next Gucci purse. I...

I am a contractor and live in Landrum last 10 years. I loved the old old time Landrum Hardware Store downtown with the wood floors and overflowing with odds and ins and was really sad to see them close. But they were limited in what they could offer and my business is somewhat specialized so I could not give them as much business as I wanted too..

I restore bathroom tile perform grout restoration and porcelain, fiberglass and tile repair and refinishing. So I use everything from specific razorblades, touch up painters brushes, grout caulk etc.... to specialized epoxy thinners.

I hesitated before going in the new store but when I finally did was thrilled to find out they carried everything I needed and more! Items I could not find at Lowes or Home Depot!

Just as important they still offer the old time friendly service are quick with a hello and smile and are always available if you have a question.

I love this place cannot say enough nice things there prices are very reasonable so there is no need for me too go anywhere else!

I live in the area and have never found the staff to be over friendly. I was extremely frustrated today when I discovered at home that the 1 bag of sakrete I had purchased an hour earlier was loaded into my truck already cured. So I had to go back down there and exchange it. At the register was a young boy and the manager and I told them what happened while I dug in my purse for the receipt. The manager did not say one single word and just walked away. The boy at the register did not speak to me at all. He took my receipt, made the exchange and handed me the new receipt. He never spoke a word. The man at the load dock, took the solid bag out of my truck and loaded a new bag. He did not say one. single. word. I was not rude. I was frustrated that I was inconvenienced by their mistake but certainly was not ugly, even though I wanted to be. Even more so now after being treated so rudely. In hindsight I wish I’d asked for a discount for the inconvenience, but all I wanted was an “We’re sorry about that ma’am”. Get...
