China Cafe Chinese food & Japanese Hibachi — Restaurant in Landrum

Got my son's birthday dinner from this restaurant. His choice for Chinese food for dinner. We ordered carry out. I ordered the steak hibachi, it was absolutely terrible. I never give bad reviews and actually takes a lot for me to get to the point where I think it's necessary. I'm not very picky or critical, but the steak was so dry and chewy after chewing and chewing and chewing I finally had to spit it out. I considered showing pictures of the chewed up food to prove I'm not just making this up but that's just gross. I ended up with no dinner to eat bc we weren't driving all the way back out on my son's birthday night. On top of the steak being a dry, rubbery, sad experience the "fried rice" they serve with the hibachi meals is nothing but plain rice that has some brownish color to it. We had called and spoke to the woman at the desk and told her what happened. Her response was "Well, everybody likes their steak cooked differently". We assured her that it was actually really dry and rubbery, not simply "well done". Then she said that they have been having problems with people and the steak hibachi. To which we replied that they may want to ask their customers how they ke it cooked if that's the case but it still doesn't make up for dry, rubbery steak. She refused to refund us, nor did she even apologize. I spent $8.95 on a meal that had to be thrown away. Believe me, if I could suffer it down I would have. My jaw actually hurt after trying to chew 2 peices of steak. It ended up being a big disappointment that not only did I have to skip dinner that night, but the restaurant refused to offer any type of compensation, not even a discount off a future meal. (Which we likely wouldn't use anyway) But customer service is still customer service. Both the meal AND the service were absolutely terrible. Would NOT go...

I wanted some Chinese food so I went to this establishment. And the minute I walked in I almost fell on a car that was on the floor. So I order my food and the owner was so rude and had a bad attitude with me. But I ordered anyway. When I got it it didn't taste right and it had hair in. After that I had lose my appetite. So I let the owner that is tasted funny. She told me so it's right just eat it or get out. I was like WOW so this little boy. I guess it's the owner's son. He kept coming over to my table and was messing with my food . And I kindly ask them to make him stop but they acted like they didn't understand. So I had to use the bathroom before I got on the road. So I went the restroom and it smelled so bad and it was so disgusting that I couldn't even use it. So I end up throwing my food away. I had spent a good much of money. So I wasted my money pretty much. I will be not returning to this restaurant. Bad...

🤢🤮 I have to change my review after tonight..... I was warned that since the owners have changed that the food wasn't fit to eat.... Well tonight we said we would try it . The chicken was slimey no taste and I can't even describe the texture. We had chicken lomein, honey chicken, and house soup. Each dish, the chicken was the same. It's sad this little China Cafe has gone down. Landrum is growing but it's hard to find good food on Saturday and Sunday.

China Cafe are always on point. They never disappoint. I always have food left over , and it's so good the next day . The price has gone up, but I'm not going to fuss it's always delicious and never wasted. I would love for them to...
