Leading up to the event the company was helpful and responsive. Great. Then, every event planners worst nightmare, they showed up 1 hour late for set up. 1 full hour of not being able to get a hold of anyone and pure OMG what are we going to do if they don't show?!?!?!? On a 1.5 hour total timeline for setup, that is an eternity.
It caused so much undo stress and was the first domino that caused multiple others to drop. There was no volunteer check-in, no volunteer breakfast, and our MC started over 30 minutes late, which required us to cut out part of our programming. It was the worst way to start a 5k event when you are hosting 1500 participants, 80 volunteers and literally have a 3 hour window to show your participants a great time.
Adding insult to injury, the sales and service staff denied our timelines when we provided feedback post event, even though we had time-stamped calls from their "after-hours response team". Finally, we spoke with the owner who investigated our issues and confirmed that the setup team WAS 1 hour late to arrive, but even then, his excuse was that it was a morning event on a Sunday and using the words of owner, JP Fritz himself, "If I am being honest, my guys don't want to wake up at 5 am on a Sunday, and good luck finding a company that you don't have the same problems with".
Well, Mr. Fritz, if that is the case, perhaps you should not make a commitment to a company on a service you cannot deliver, not to mention charge them a premium for delivery and labor. Nearly $5,000 in rentals for a 4 hour event and that is the service and the response you will get from this company. Even after the owner admitted that they "failed" to hold up their end of the agreement, he said "I think a $300 discount is reasonable for the trouble". Really, do you? Absolutely not the kind of service I would expect from a company based in the service industry.
On a brighter note, unsolicited by me, both my event MC and race timing company recommended another rental company, ACC Party Rental. I'll bet they have people who are willing to do a couple hours worth of work on a Sunday...
Read moreI was very disappointed with my call to Grace this morning regarding rental of Pipe and Drape for a trade show this weekend. She asked the area that I wanted to cover. I stated the area I have is a 6ft by 10ft. She stated well is this personal or business. I explained its for business. She proceeded to state "Oh well you need to have a minimum order and my order did not meet that. I asked is that because we are a business. She stated no its because your order will only be $30.00 and some change. I said "You did not let me finish perhaps I wanted to order more" She stated "Well I asked you that at the beginning." Well I just stated to Grace that I would just look elsewhere. I am pretty disappointed as I normally get very good customer service. I have sent many customers to your business, many brides, many business owners. Perhaps just a bad day Grace...but unfortunately you lost me...
Read moreRented an outdoor red carpet. Picked up the item and discovered it had black spots on it which appeared in our photos. When I dropped it off, I expressed my concern to the office. The people at the return counter were already aware of the issue and agreed there was a problem.
I waited a few weeks to hear from the owner who was out of town. I followed up again and was assured he would call back.
Two months later, I called again and was informed that the office manager and owner had looked at the rugs and determined they were fine for outdoor rentals. $100 for a red carpet with black stains. No refund, no real apology.
