DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! I experienced the most traumatic night of my life during the few short hours I was at this hotel. My original hotel had been overbooked so it left me scrambling late at night traveling alone with my young son. I came across the Baymont and out of desperation and virtually no other options I booked us there for the evening. The check in process was simple but once we entered the room it is very obvious that this hotel is just used for people partying. The room was completely run down and had a hole punched in the bathroom door. It was supposed to be a nonsmoking room but it smelled strongly of cigarette and air freshener to try to cover it up plus there was an ashtray in the room. Now onto the worst parts. Around midnight I heard someone attempting to get into our room. Obviously I was startled by it and then they began to knock. I cracked the door and told them they were at the wrong room and they couple stated it was their room and their belongings were in there. I told them there was nothing in there and after a few moments of back and forth they left. I was very shaken up by that experience and was finally starting to calm down from it an hour and a half later I heard someone at my door again and this time the door opened. It was 1:15am!! I started screaming and whoever was at the door left. I immediately packed our bags to leave and woke up my son and went down to the front desk for a refund. When I got to the desk to let them know I wouldnât be staying there and that I needed a refund the old man at the desk tried to tell me it was ok because it was him that came into my room. It is NOT ok to open a guests door in the middle of the night!!! They didnât attempt to knock on the door or call the room. As a woman traveling alone with my young son I can only assume the worst. I see there are other reviews stating people have come into their room and if I had time to read those reviews before booking I would have never stayed here. The responses from management to the negative reviews are not taken into consideration and anything they say they are working on to resolve is a lie. I had faith in this property because of the Wyndham name but do not let that fool you. Save your money and yourself and stay somewhere else. This hotel needs to be shutdown!!! Iâm also supposed to be getting a refund for the room but nothing has posted to my account yet.
Edited to respond to the owner: Your response is a blatant lie as you have responded similar ones to guest who also experienced a stranger entering their room either while they are in the room or while they are not. I assume any meetings that you hold with your team over VALID guest concerns or complaints are just laughed at by you all. And you can trust I WILL NEVER STAY at the property again!!! From what another front desk worker told my dad is that it is common practice for your security to go around in the middle of the night to open rooms to check if they are vacate. Completely UNACCEPTABLE as it violates guests hotel privacy and is honestly quite the liability for you as a...
Read moreOkay, it took me a few days to share my experience at Baymont Inn and Suites by Wyndham in Columbus/ Near OSU at 887 Morse Rd 43229 It is False Advertisement! This was a few days vacation for my boys and I, and the hotel was the worst part. When I pulled in to the parking lot, I thought not so bad⌠but that all changed when I walked into room #216 that was the worst place I have ever seen in my 30+ years. I wish I would have taken pictures of the room (seemed like a drug room) so dirty and nasty I could not stay in there. I rushed back to the first desk and I asked the older gentleman that was at the front desk if this hotel was full with drug addicts because that room was unbelievable. He immediately told me that he would switch my room and that this room would be way better on the third floor. I did not know what he meant by that but I was hoping it was. Scared to take my boys in the new room, I went up first and noticed they âtriedâ to make these rooms look a little better. Even thought this would not be a room I would have knowingly picked for my boys and myself, unfortunately it was paid for already and I could not just go get another room đ. I went and got my boys and as soon as my son seen the room he said âthis is a dingy room and false advertised Mom.â Ashamed that a 12-year-old knew that this wasnât a place to sleep comfortably. As we begin to check the room for bugs, etc.. we noticed a broken toilet handle, stained sheets and pillowcases, missing back to the remote control which made it hard to change the channel because you had to hold the batteries in. It advertised âfree breakfastâ but there was none, just coffee and 1 last pack of four count mini muffins, which I had to take my boys to breakfast every morning because of the lies that were told when I was searching for a hotel. The first night as I arrived back to the hotel to sleep I was so nervous about leaving my Mercedes Benz parked there over night because it looked like drug addicts lived all around the hotel. I walked to the front desk and asked the receptionist if this was a hotel that drug addicts and drug dealers lived and he honestly told me âthey stay on the first and second floors.â Wow, I knew it and that explained why they moved me to the third floor. I asked him if he could keep and eye on my vehicle overnight as I pointed to my vehicle on the camera. The one good thing that this hotel had was cameras and a security guard!
Overall, I will NEVER go back to this hotel or anywhere around it because Iâm not from Columbus and I didnât know the area of the hotel, I honestly feel as though I need compensation for having to pay for something so terrible. The only reason I gave a 1 star because there wasnât an option for zero stars.
In closing, this hotel was not a good experience, and I would absolutely...
