Payless 4 Furniture and Mattress — Local services in Columbus

I had a horrible experience with Payless furniture store. I wanted to purchase a bed, but I wasn't sure and when I went in my husband knew the worker in the store from jackson pike. I should've known better then...smh... He told us he was going to get us a great deal and for us to place a hold on the mattresses and he would call us back and let us know what his manageer said about the bedroom suite. Not once while he was taking my money did he mention that they didn't do cash refunds...Well in the meanwhile, I found out that the bed I had a hold on wouldn't fit up my stairs, and my friend said she would give me a bed so I wouldn't have to spend my whole check buying one. So I got the bed from her and said good I will just go get my money off the bed that I cannot use and get my money back. I go in to Payless and one of the owners basically says I have to get something out their store because they don't do refunds at all. I explained my situation to him and he said he would match any competitor pricing...now when I bring in an estimate for something else, he says its gotta be ashley furniture...since there are alot of false furniture stores out there...i So I say in my opinion you're one of them...I just have to be out of 300 bucks because they don't do refunds...Another coworker of mines said she had issues with them giving her the wrong merchandise all together on two different occasions...then they have the audacity to open up another store down the street from this...

We relocated here and in April decided to go here for our bedroom set. We purchased a king size bed dresser and mirror and a king mattress and box spring set. I was told that the set was the last one available (floor model). When delivered the dresser had scratches and chipped pieces and so did the frame for the bed. I tried contacting the person I dealt with and he basically always promised to do something and never did or he ignored me. I went into the store a few days later and there was another bed set just like mine and I realized I was lied to and we didn’t purchase the last set. The owner was in and not the person who sold me everything and I explained everything to him and he said he would handle it which he NEVER did. Fast forward to July we desperately needed some twin mattresses and a dining set. I looked around and was not having any luck. So we went back to this place. I spoke to the owner son and explained everything that happened in April. He apologized and said he would work with me for the things we needed. We ordered the mattresses and dining set and a couple $100 was taken off. Currently only 2 chairs out of 6 is put together because the dining set came with the WRONG SCREWS for the other chairs! This place is a joke and I feel like they just get over and say whatever they need to say to make a sell and do not care about customer...

Staff was very friendly, but why shouldn't they be when you are about to spend thousands of dollars on low quality furniture? I purchased my son a bunk bed and myself a bedframe, mattress and dresser. Everything was great until about 6 months from purchase, my sons bed wobbles and sways from side to side. I can find someone to tighten that up I'm sure, HOWEVER 10 months from date of purchase MY queen sized broke at the head of the bed and the frame is DONE. A carpenter could not even repair. When I called, they acted as if they needed my invoice number and they have no record of my transaction, even though they made the call to Progressive and delivered and setup my items themselves. Totally dissatisfied at this level of...
