Vintage Supply Store — Local services in Commerce

Sad to be the only bad review on here, but feel like it's important to share my "buyer beware" story for those who are thinking about purchasing from Vintage Supply cross-country.

Saw a set they had available, and contacted them to make a best offer. Vintage Supply was super nice, and gave me a great discount. No issue there and I'm appreciative for that! The problem came with their terrible shipper Nomex. We paid $500 USD to ship LA-NYC, with their shipper, rated as white-glove service. Vintage Supply scheduled and canceled our delivery date 3 times because of shipper issues. Every time, we took take time off to receive the shipment, and the cancellation was last minute, so that wasn't great. Delivery finally made it 3rd time, with a nick / chip in one of the pieces. Vintage Supply never reached out, we had to contact them. Things happen in shipping, and that's fine as long as a business communicates about it. Vintage Supply was silent and made us do all the work. I've worked in shipping before, and this was NOT white glove service. After explaining my frustration, I got $150 back for shipping. To their credit, Vintage Supply did offer for their shipper to come back twice to fix it. We schedule and again waited for the shipper... who never showed up. Turns out the shipper wasn't in NY to begin with... kinda funny at this point if not so annoying.

Maybe a good experience if you're LA local. However, customer service leaves a lot to be desired and make sure you don't have to deal with Nomex. They make the US postal service...

I discovered Vintage Supply Store via OfferUp when my partner and I were on the hunt for a desk. They had three we were considering so we reached out to see if we could come by to take a look in person.

From the exterior of the building you would have no idea what treasures you’ll discover within! A store full of stunning and impeccably restored furniture awaits. We came for one desk but ended up spending over an hour admiring all the pieces and left with two nightstands as well. We are thrilled with our purchases!

The owner is what makes this store in even more special. He is not only friendly and extremely knowledgeable about all the pieces/designers/lines but also passionate about his craft and what he does. In a world of extremely cheap and flimsy furniture sold by faceless corporations, it feels good to support a small business owner selling beautiful restored vintage furniture that will last a lifetime.

We will definitely be back for future pieces as well as to have pieces we already own to...

Recently discovered Vintage Supply Store online and purchased two mid-century modern abstract brass sculptures with marble bases and a mid-century studio vase. Communications/e-mails with us were handled by Fernando who was exceptionally caring, helpful, and thorough. And we were very impressed and appreciative of the way everything was packed and shipped so carefully to avoid any problems.The sculptures and their patina look absolutely stunning in person and we feel so fortunate to have them as a pair.
